UFC Vegas 104 star begs Dana White for $50,000 bonus to open rehabilitation center after sickening KO

Priscila Cachoeira plans to spend $50,000 to help drug addicts if she gets a post-fight bonus after UFC Vegas 104.

UFC mainstay Priscila Cachoeira earned one of the wildest wins of her career on Saturday at UFC Vegas 104.

Cachoeira countered bantamweight Josiane Nunes’s relentless forward pressure with a perfectly-timed uppercut to earn a one-punch knockout on the UFC Vegas 104 prelims. It was a frontrunner for the most brutal finish of the evening and easily one of the most shocking finishes in recent women’s MMA history.

The knockout win dropped jaws at the Apex and around the world as Cachoeira rebounded from a two-fight skid. Cachoeira called for a post-fight bonus, with good reason to back up her argument, and shared a heart-warming reason for wanting the added $50,000 payout.

Priscila Cachoeira calls for construction of a rehab center

During her UFC Vegas 104 post-fight interview, Cachoeira used her spotlight to send a heart-warming message to Dana White.

“I fight for a reason, I fight because I want to prove myself. I used to be a crack user, I was into drugs, and I understand every week I hear of news every week of people dying because of drugs. Believe in yourselves,” Cachoeira began.

“And Dana, please listen to me. Give me a bonus because I want to open an institute for people, I know what this is all about. We’re all on this Earth for a short period of time and want to make the best of it. Fighting saved my life, and I want to continue to help save lives. So help me out!”

Cachoeira grew up and still fights out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, overcoming a horrific childhood to become one of the top MMA fighters in her weight class. She overcame a crack cocaine addiction in her 20s after years of alleged neglect and abuse as a child.

Cachoeira’s mother helped her turn her addictive tendencies from drugs to mixed martial arts, and she’s fully recovered from her past drug use at this stage of her life. It’s a story of perseverance and inspiration to go with Cachoeira’s at-times controversial stint in the UFC.

Priscila Cachoeira, Jared Gordon among UFC fighters who overcame drug addiction

Cachoeira is one of many current and former UFC fighters who overcame early hardship to find success inside the cage. UFC lightweight Jared Gordon has discussed his tumultuous past during various media availabilities and is a staunch advocate for addicts using combat sports as an outlet to overcome their addictions.

Cachoeira bounced back from losses to Jasmine Jasudavicius and Miranda Maverick to earn the one-punch knockout at UFC Vegas 104. As she continues her full-time move to bantamweight, she could be a potential fit to face several Top 15 contenders.

Cachoeira has earned wins over the likes of Ariane Lipski, Ji-yeon Kim, and Shana Dobson during her UFC tenure. A loss to Gillian Robertson at UFC 269 led most to brand Cachoeira as a cheater after attempting to eye gouge her opponent during grappling exchanges.
