Robbie Lawler punished an MMA icon when he made a massive mistake against him during an epic UFC encounter.
In his phenomenal career, the American forged a reputation as one of the most violent men in combat sports history.
After all, Lawler is the warrior who shattered Rory MacDonald’s nose in one of the most brutal wars the sport has ever seen.
And that’s not the only memorable fight he’s had, with another fan favorite pushing him to his limit in a remarkable battle.

Carlos Condit says he made a big mistake against Robbie Lawler
On January 2, 2016, at UFC 195, inside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit delivered something truly special.
Following five epic rounds, it was ‘Ruthless’ who emerged with a split decision victory. However, it could’ve been so different had his opponent not made an error.
In an episode of The Jaxxon Podcast, the former interim champion said: “First round, maybe about a minute or two into the fight, I threw some crazy switch uppercut, catch him, put him on his face, he pops right right back up, because Robbie is a f—— savage.
“In the first round, I just kept it on him, trying to finish. Second round, I go out and I try to do the same thing.
“I think I fell in love with that technique, ‘Alright, didn’t work the first time, I’m gonna make it work another time’. I got caught with my head up; he dropped me.
“Maybe third or fourth round, I had him hurt. I think I caught him with a three-piece, then with a hook, and had him on deer legs. He survived.
“Robbie Lawler is one of my favorites of all time, by the way.”
Robbie Lawler gets emotional as his entrance into the UFC Hall of Fame is confirmed
There’s no doubt that Lawler is one of the baddest men to have ever walked the face of the Earth.
With that in mind, it’s only right that his achievements are recognized by the promotion in which he had so many epic bouts.
Before Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev made their walks to the cage last week, the broadcast took a moment to reflect on the career of a true pioneer.
Following an emotional video, Lawler fought back the tears as he discovered he’ll be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
