Sean Brady vows to correct major mistake he made against Belal Muhammad ahead of UFC London

A few weeks out from his UFC London clash against Leon Edwards, Sean Brady has vowed not to make the same mistake he made against Belal Muhammad in 2022.

Since his first professional loss against Belal Muhammad in 2022, Sean Brady has done well to bounce back and prove that he is still a threat in the welterweight division.

Last time out, the Philadelphia native showcased his skills against former welterweight title challenger, Gilbert Burns, scoring potentially the biggest win of his career thus far, beating Burns over a decision.

The 32-year-old then received the call to step in to fight Leon Edwards at UFC London on March 22, after Edwards’ original opponent, Jack Della Maddalena got offered a title shot.

Sean Brady explains big mistake he made ahead of Belal Muhammad fight

Brady has been calling for a fight against Edwards for several months now, with him finally getting his opportunity in relatively strange circumstances.

The change in opponent has been labeled a ‘nightmare’ situation for Edwards by fellow British UFC star, Michael Bisping, due to the fact that ‘Rocky’ now faces off against another relentless grappler instead of a striker.

Ahead of this huge fight in the welterweight division, Brady has revealed that ahead of his fight against Muhammad, he made the big mistake of traveling to Abu Dhabi just 10 days before the fight, not leaving him time to adjust to the climate.

However, this time, Brady doesn’t need to make many adjustments as there is only a four-hour time difference between London and Philadelphia.

“I made the mistake of when I fought in Abu Dhabi that was 12-hours, I only went out 10 days early for that so that was a 12-hour difference, I f—– up doing that but this is only five hours, two more hours than Vegas, you’ve got to consider all of those things,” Brady told Michael Bisping.

Leon Edwards believes he can earn title shot with a win over Brady

Ahead of their clash, Edwards has claimed that he could earn the next title shot if he beats Brady, stating that the fight is a number one contender fight.

Despite that, waiting in the wings is longtime contender, Shavkat Rakhmonov, who missed out on a title shot against Muhammad at UFC 310 because of the champion’s withdrawal and subsequently UFC 315.

Although Edwards believes he could secure the next title shot, it is extremely unlikely that the promotion looks passed Rakhmonov again.
