Magomed Ankalaev goes after Khalil Rountree Jr as outlandish post-UFC 313 ranting continues

Magomed Ankalaev is continuing his verbal onslaught on all doubters after winning the UFC light-heavyweight title.

Newly-crowned champion Ankalaev has already taken aim at former champions Jiri Prochazka and Jon Jones since dethroning Alex Pereira at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night. Now, he has added Khalil Rountree Jr to the list of detractors whom he must take aim at on social media.

Ankalaev doesn’t speak English publicly, but has been known to send out tweets slamming his rivals that have been translated. It was believed that this was an effort to get a shot at the belt, but it seems fans can expect the same going forward as champion!

After his win on Saturday, newly-crowned champion Magomed Ankalaev has not been shy about taking aim at any of his doubters. This includes Jon Jones, and now it seems he is letting Khalil Rountree Jr know how he really feels.

A fan shared a video showing Rountree looking upset by what he was seeing during the UFC 313 main event as Ankalaev was defeating Pereira. The clip went viral, and caught the attention of Ankalaev who took to social media to mock for former title contender.

“Khalil bum tree upset I beat his daddy,” Ankalaev wrote, before showing support against Rountree in his upcoming bout with Jamahal Hill, adding: “Let’s go Jamahal.”

Magomed Ankalaev claims Alex Pereira ‘ran’ during UFC 313 main event

Generally after a big title fight, there will be a degree of humility from the winner in their post-fight interviews and appearances. But Ankalaev has not been shy in giving his opinions, including that he feels Pereira ‘ran’ during their fight.

“It was very different from what we envisioned,” Anklaev said during his post-fight press conference on Saturday night. “As you know, usually Pereira hunts for the finish – as you could see he was running away from me.

“For 20 minutes this guy was running away from me… Maybe in the rematch he can fight for real and not just run away the entire time.”
