Conor McGregor has the ‘IT factor’ needed to be a WWE superstar, according to Ken Shamrock.
MMA fans will remember ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ for his legendary 27-17-2 run in the sport.
Ken Shamrock started as a pro wrestler before returning to the ring after retiring from MMA in 2016.
The 61-year-old, who is currently signed to the WWE, is perfectly placed to pick out the current UFC stars with crossover potential, and he thinks Conor McGregor has what it takes to be a big success in a new sport.

Conor McGregor tipped for WWE success
McGregor is coming to the end of his iconic MMA run, which saw him become the biggest UFC star ever.
Whenever he’s done with the sport, Shamrock believes he can make the switch to pro wrestling.
The UFC Hall of Famer says McGregor’s personality could make him a massive WWE star.
“I don’t care how much character they have in baseball, in basketball, in MMA, wrestling is a different beast,” Shamrock told Makthavare.se.
“It is a very much different beast. There’s a lot of give and take, and a lot of times there’s more give than there is take.
“You have to have that character to be able to understand that this is the way it works, and you’re not going to just walk in and dominate the circuit.
“Unless, of course, you have that ‘IT’ factor which is going to sell tickets or put a—- in the seat. I know Conor has that in MMA, and if he could transition over that into wrestling that would be sweet, but you don’t know until it happens.”
What’s next for Conor McGregor?
Conor McGregor has been sidelined since breaking his leg during a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
‘Notorious’ has been fully fit for some time, but he’s struggled to pencil in a date for his MMA comeback.
Dana White originally claimed that his biggest star will return to the Octagon before the end of 2025 – but more recently the UFC boss has acted unsure about McGregor’s first fight in four years.
Meanwhile, the Irishman has redirected his attention to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
The BKFC co-owner recently shared footage of him training without gloves after suggesting his bare-knuckle boxing debut is definitely going to happen, it’s just a matter of when.
“If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again,” McGregor said during a recent BKFC press conference in Italy.
“I would wish to be the Bare Knuckle world champion. That is a significant belt to hold in your career. Nobody from boxing or mixed martial arts can speak nothing bad on a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship world champion.
“So, for sure, I would be coming in looking for the world title.”
