Legendary two-weight UFC champion earned just $150,000 to headline Fight Night which broke US gate record

The Washington State Department of Licensing has released the disclosed purses of the fighters who recently competed on the UFC Seattle Fight Night event.

On February 22, the UFC returned to Seattle, Washington for the fourth time with a Fight Night event headlined by bantamweight contenders, Henry Cejudo and Song Yadong.

After an incredible stretch of prelim fights, which all ended in finishes, fans were hopeful of a competitive fight between the former UFC double champion, Cejudo and veteran bantamweight, Yadong.

Unfortunately, though, the fight ended unceremoniously when Yadong caught Cejudo with an eyepoke at the end of round three, rendering him unable to contine.

Since then, Cejudo has updated the fans on the injury he sustained from the brutal fouls and has even confronted referee Jason Herzog for not deducting a point, which led to him losing a technical decision.

Disclosed UFC Seattle purses revealed as Henry Cejudo only takes home $150,000

The event broke the gate record for North American Fight Night events, exceeding $3.8million, Dana White revealed after the fight.

Now a few weeks removed from the event at the the Climate Pledge Arena, the disclosed purses have been revealed by the Washington State Department of Licensing.

Although it is only what has been disclosed, with the number expected to be much higher due to sponsorships and other factors, former double champion, Cejudo only took home $150,000 with the loss costing him an additional $150,000.

The 27-year-old ‘Kung Fu Kid’ bagged himself $320,000, $160,000 guaranteed purse with an additional $160,000 having come from picking up the decision win.

Alarmingly, in the co-main event, number 10 ranked middleweight, Brendan Allen picked up $60,000 more than Cejudo, despite losing a decision to Anthony Hernandez, who earned $144,000.

Bantamweight veteran, Rob Font, also earned over double Cejudo’s purse after picking up a split decision win against Jean Matsumoto, taking $320,000.

Budding UFC star, Jean Silva also competed on the card, starching Melsik Baghdasaryan in the first round, earning $90,000 for his efforts.

Others fighters who earned more than Henry Cejudo at UFC Seattle

Just four fights into the event, Ricky Simon rendered Javid Basharat unconscious with a spectacular knockout, which pocketed him $160,000.

Former ranked light heavyweight contender, Ion Cutelaba registered back-to-back wins for the first time since 2017 as he snatched Ibo Aslan’s hype with a first round submission, earning $190,000.

One of the other more surprising disclosed purses from the event was Alonzo Menifield‘s $240,000 for picking up a split decision win against UFC debutant, Julius Walker, who earned the standard $12,000.
