Surging featherweight star Jean Silva scolded Movsar Evloev for mocking his former rival ahead of UFC 314.
Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes will fight for the to-be-vacant featherweight title in the UFC 314 main event in April. Ilia Topuria, after knocking out Max Holloway in October, will vacate the belt for a full-time move to the lightweight division.
Lopes’ quick ascent to the title comes after recent wins over Brian Ortega, Dan Ige, and Sodiq Yusuff. His UFC debut came on short notice against Movsar Evloev at UFC 288, losing by unanimous decision but giving Evloev one of his toughest tests.
Evloev, who most recently defeated Aljamain Sterling at UFC 310, is likely next for the Volkanovski vs. Lopes winner. The undefeated Russian juggernaut wasn’t ready to compete at UFC 314 and mocked Lopes as a ‘chicken’ after the main event news broke.
Jean Silva, who knows a thing or two about earning stardom, defended Lopes against Evloev’s taunts on social media.

In a recent post to X, Silva blasted Evloev for his recent comments.
“Brother, you talk so much, but where are your fights?” Silva tweeted to Evloev. “While you’re sitting around, a guy you already beat is about to fight for the title. Staying undefeated without action is easy. You’re just another one who talks too much and does too little.”
Volkanovski welcomed a title defense against Evloev if he defeats Lopes at UFC 314. As for Silva, he’s marching towards the Top 15 after a slew of recent wins, including a brutal knockout at UFC Seattle.
Silva will fight for a Top 15 spot when he faces Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314, sharing a card with Volkanovski and Lopes. A win could earn him a fight with a Top 10 contender and one step closer to a potential title shot.

Jean Silva gets Bryce Mitchell callout granted with UFC 314 showcase
After knocking out Melsik Baghdasaryan, Silva called out Mitchell, who has been at the center of recent controversies. Mitchell hasn’t fought since defeating Kron Gracie at UFC 310.
Silva remains undefeated in his UFC career after wins over Drew Dober, Charles Jourdain, and Westin Wilson. He earned a spot on the UFC roster via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023.
After Holloway and Topuria’s departures from the featherweight division, Silva is part of a new era for the 145-pounders. Silva and Evloev could be on a collision course in the next year or two, depending on how things play out in their careers.
