The ongoing feud between UFC CEO Dana White and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya has taken a new turn as Joe Rogan now finds himself in the firing line.
Love him or loathe him, Oscar De La Hoya remains one of the most entertaining promoters out there; especially with his weekly bites of beef on social media, more commonly known as ‘Clap Back Thursdays’.
This week’s episode was delayed by one day after veteran UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan joked that Golden Boy was going ‘off the rails’ regarding Terence Crawford – and it’s not taken long for the boxing icon to fire back.

Oscar De La Hoya challenges Joe Rogan and Dana White over podcast feature
On a recent episode of the JRE Podcast, the veteran UFC commentator would tease “Oscar seems like he’s a little off the rails these days,” – to no one’s surprise, Rogan was then made the center piece of this week’s ‘Clap Back Thursday’.
“Joe, I’m off the rails, really? Alright, let’s take a look at your evolution over the last fifteen years,” stated De La Hoya in a video shared on his Instagram page.
“Joe, it must be in your contract to say ill on me and not say one nice word about me… Bro, stop being petty. You refuse to put me on my podcast when the majority of your content is MMA or boxing centered.
“I mean, I get it Daddy Dana [White] will not let you have me on the podcast, [so] let me propose something,” teased the Hall of Famer, challenging Rogan to book him alongside Dana White on an episode of his famed internet show.
“This will be the highest-rated show you’ll ever do… Have me and your daddy Dana on the podcast together. You can moderate the podcast, so two against one. And I’m fine with that because I’m an open book.”
De La Hoya and White have been embroiled in a bitter feud for well over a decade; while a JRE podcast with the three combat sports icons would be hilarious to watch, it’d be nigh-on-impossible to get them all in a room together… At least without bucketloads of security in tow.

Oscar De La Hoya ‘claps back’ over Terence Crawford comments
Rogan also questioned why De La Hoya had been so fixated on Terence Crawford of late, especially after it was confirmed that ‘Bud’ had officially signed on to fight Canelo Alvarez in September.
“Did he [Rogan] really ask why I’m commenting on Terence Crawford? The rankings have him at No.1 at 154 pounds when he doesn’t even fight at that weight anymore.
“I’m commenting because my fighter Vergil Ortiz beat Israil Madrimov last Saturday much easier than Crawford did. I’m also commenting because it’s my f—- job to be a promoter and promote my fighters.”
In a prior interview with Fight Hype, which has since been removed from YouTube, De La Hoya shared his prediction for Terence Crawford vs Canelo, scheduled for September 13, 2025.
“Look, fighter versus fight and talent, obviously Crawford is the craftier boxer, but Canelo has the size, he has the power, and it’s like [Bob] Arum said: He’ll run right through him. It’ll be a tough fight.
“But stylistically, I mean, yeah, it’ll be a one-sided fight for maybe, let’s say, seven rounds, and then Canelo starts attacking, he starts to take it to deep waters, and the power will eventually be too much. Will it be a great fight? Will it be a huge event? Absolutely.”
Crawford vs Canelo is currently scheduled for September 13 – the Mexican will face William Scull first on May 3.
