‘I’d never been leg kicked like that’… Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson praises legend for badly hurting him during title fight

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has gone toe-to-toe with some of the best fighters in the world, but one man kicked him harder than all of them.

During his career, the American had to overcome countless amounts of adversity.

On one occasion, Rampage got so angry that he power-bombed Ricardo Arona, at Pride FC: Critical Countdown 2004 in Saitama, Japan.

But in this particular fight, the former UFC King couldn’t deal with what his opponent brought to the table.

Forrest Griffin connected on Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson with a brutal leg kick

At UFC 86, on July 5, 2008, Quinton Jackson went to war with Forrest Griffin, inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Despite his best efforts, ‘Rampage’ couldn’t get the job done, losing his title via unanimous decision.

Now, he’s welcomed his old foe onto The JAXXON Podcast, where he complimented him on his explosive power

The host exclaimed: “Honestly, I didn’t see you getting out of the first round. After you got out of the first round, you really impressed me.

“I was the champion; I didn’t want to lose my belt. But when you hurt my leg, in that fight, my mind was so strong, I healed myself up in between rounds. I had never been leg-kicked like that before.”

After the pleasantires were out of the way, Rampage questioned his former rival about how he had learned that move.

The powerhouse asked: “Then, I found out who taught you that s—. And that hurt my motherf—— feelings. I used to train with that motherf—–. They said you trained with him, and you asked him to show you that kick. James Irvin. Is that true?”

Griffin replied: “I trained with James. He had a very good Thai kick. But it’s a Thai kick; it’s not a trade secret. Guys invented that kick 300 years ago in Thailand.”

Since launching his podcast, Griffin isn’t the only person with whom Rampage has discussed old grudges.

Recently, the legend invited Randy Couture onto his show to talk about their long-running feud.

For years, the pair were at loggerheads, with Rampage now forgiving Couture for their major disagreement.
