‘Very intelligent’… Joe Rogan names legendary MMA coach as his favorite

Joe Rogan has sat cageside and watched some of the greatest coaches of all time guide their fighters to victory.

During this period, many of these MMA aficionados have left a lasting impression on the popular commentator.

However, Rogan is adamant that one man stands out from the pack.

The individual in question is an absolute master of crafting the perfect game plan.

Joe Rogan says Firas Zahabi is his number one MMA coach

Throughout his career, Joe Rogan has had some wild experiences, from crazy interviews with Derick Lewis, to witnessing some of the most significant moments in MMA history.

But while the American loves the excitement the sport provides, he also thoroughly enjoys the science behind the fighting.

Rogan has an enormous amount of respect for the intellect that comes alongside coaching the best in the business, with the 57-year-old claiming that one man does it better than anyone else.

On an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, he said: “There’s some really elite trainers out there, and I don’t want to miss anybody, but Firas Zahabi is probably my favorite.

“He’s very intelligent and very analytical. He does a fantastic job of breaking down fights, both before and after the fight, and telling you what tactics didn’t work, and why they didn’t work, and what went wrong in the fight and what was effective.

“He’s just a brilliant human being and very intelligent about the way he makes his fighters prepare. He trained Georges St-Pierre, who’s one of the greatest, if not the greatest, of all time.

“So, there’s him, and Greg Jackson, and Michael Winkeljohn from Jackson Wink in New Mexico, that’s where Jon Jones came from. Multiple world champions have come from that gym.

“John Crouch in Arizona, he’s phenomenal. There’s just so many top of the food chain guys.”

Joe Rogan reveals his favorite UFC fighter to interview

Joe Rogan adores his position in the UFC, with the New Jerseyan having the all-important job of setting foot in the cage with the best fighters on the planet, to chat with them after their wins.

In those moments, he has the task of capturing the victor’s emotions, asking them all about their remarkable achievements.

Of course, there are some mixed martial artists who were born to take to the mic, with the likes of Conor McGregor and Michael Bisping, delivering many a memorable line.

However, there’s one fighter, Rogan loved interviewing more than anyone else.
