Paddy Pimblett reveals that he’s scheduled his UFC 314 travel plans around Liverpool FC

‘The Baddy’ has got the biggest fight of his career on April 12 but his flight to Miami will need to be pushed back a few days.

At UFC 314, Paddy Pimblett will face Michael Chandler in a blockbuster co-main event where he’ll look to extend his UFC winning streak to seven.

The 30-year-old is dialled in for his biggest test to date with Chandler also having something to prove against Pimblett in this pivotal lightweight clash.

Whilst fighting is how the rising star makes his living, it doesn’t always take priority over the scouser’s beloved Liverpool Football Club.

Pimblett dreams of fighting at their stadium, Anfield, but he will continue to support the reds from the stands until the day comes where he’ll be the one inciting a singalong of “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

Paddy Pimblett changes his travel plans to accommodate for the Merseyside Derby

After being in attendance for Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Newcastle on Wednesday night, Paddy Pimblett spoke about his plans for UFC 314 in Miami.

‘The Baddy’ usually likes to have close to two weeks to acclimatize when he’s fighting overseas as he will be on April 12 inside the Kaseya Center.

However, he’s making an exception on this occasion due to a match that means more than others to Liverpool fans.

LFC currently top the Premier League table by a staggering 13 points but despite this wide gap between them and 2nd place Arsenal, April 2 isn’t a game that any fan can miss.

With just Stanley Park to separate the two clubs, Liverpool’s bitter rivals Everton will make the trip to Anfield in a few weeks time for a clash between two clubs at opposite ends of the table.

Pimblett told TNT Sports that he’s willing to cut down his time in Miami in order to be in the stands for the latest instalment of “The Merseyside Derby”.

“No, I normally go at like 12, 14 days before but it’s on the 12th April and Liverpool play Everton on the Wednesday before, the 2nd of April, so I’m going to fly the next day. I need to be in Anfield, watch the Reds beat the Blues. Yeah, I can’t wait for that.”

A win at UFC 314 will push Paddy Pimblett into title contention

If Paddy Pimblett is able to beat Michael Chandler on April 12, the Liverpool FC squad won’t be the only ones with titles in their sights.

‘The Baddy’ is currently the #12-ranked contender in the lightweight division but getting his hand raised against the #7-ranked Chandler will elevate his status significantly.

With Pimblett being a big star for the promotion, he could be just two more wins away from earning his first UFC title shot.

That process could even be accelerated due to Pimblett’s feud with Ilia Topuria if ‘El Matador’ is able to find success at 155-pounds after moving up to the division.
