Dustin Poirier bit Michael Chandler

On November 12, 2022, Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler went toe-to-toe in a Fight of the Night at UFC 281, inside Madison Square Garden, New York, USA.

The entertaining encounter provided entertainment in abundance, with the two men giving their all to get the win. However, it certainly wasn’t short of controversy, with ‘The Diamond’ confessing he bit his nemesis after he alleges his opponent attempted to fish-hook him.

In an interview with Outta Pocket with RGIII, the 36-year-old said: “He stuck his fingers in my mouth, to lift my neck up for a rear-naked choke. He’s on my back; I’m trying to get up off the fence. He sticks his fingers in my mouth, grabs my mouthguard, pulls my neck up to try and get his hand underneath my chin.

“I bite his fingers so hard. You heard it here first — if I didn’t have a mouthguard on my top teeth, he’d be walking around like this (mimics missing fingers).

“I felt my bottom teeth go into his skin. I bet he was cut.”

Poirier eventually won the contest via third-round rear-naked choke.
