Paddy Pimblett hopes to use his fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 314 as a springboard to even greater opportunities.
‘The Baddy’ debuted to immediate popularity in the UFC in 2021, dispatching Luigi Vendramini by knockout in the first round. After a long six-fight UFC winning streak, including dominant wins over veterans Tony Ferguson and King Green, Pimblett finally gets his big break against Chandler in the co-main spot of UFC 314.
With a victory in Miami, the Liverpool star has his sights set on Chandler’s old rival.

Paddy Pimblett interested in fighting Conor McGregor after Michael Chandler
Chandler was originally scheduled to face McGregor at UFC 303. The two lightweight stars coached on The Ultimate Fighter season 31, with a Chandler-McGregor showdown as the planned finale. However, deliberation on McGregor’s part and his legal issues outside of the cage led to Chandler sitting out of the sport for nearly two years.
He returned at UFC 309 in November 2024, losing a rematch to Charles Oliveira. Now, keeping active, Chandler faces Pimblett. ‘The Baddy’ is keen to usurp Chandler as the comeback fight for McGregor.
“Sounds very tasty,” Pimblett told Round Eight Boxing. “A lot of people have said this to me already, ‘Beat Chandler, take the McGregor fight.’ Obviously, it’s the biggest fight in the sport, the biggest fight we’ve ever seen.”
