Khalil Rountree Jr has been offered the chance of redemption by one of his former foes as he looks to return to the Octagon.
The last time Khalil Rountree Jr stepped into the Octagon was last October when he stepped in to try and dethrone Alex Pereira.
Despite coming up short, Rountree Jr and Pereira put on a FOTY contender, and ‘War Horse’ proved to himself and the fans that he is able to hang with the best in the 205lb division.
A few months removed from his fight, Rountree Jr showed off his permanent battle scars and now he is looking to return to the Octagon.

While looking for his return to the cage, Rountree Jr was called out by Carlos Ulberg at the end of last year after Ulberg’s impressive win over Volkan Oezdemir.
As well as being called out by ‘Black Jag’, the recent title challenger has now been offered the chance at redemption by his former foe, Ion Cutelaba.
Cutelaba pulled off a big upset win over Ibo Aslan this past Saturday at UFC Seattle, handing the Turk his first loss inside the Octagon and following his second win in a row, talked about a potential rematch against ‘War Horse’.
The two first met back in 2019 and ‘The Hulk’ scored a first-round finish over Rountree Jr.
“I don’t f—— care who is next, I need to fight everyone but I will give the chance to Rountree for a rematch against me, he needs to show he’s better so I’ll give him the chance,” Cutelaba said at the post-fight press conference.
Who could Khalil Rountree Jr fight next?
Despite Cutelaba holding a win over the 35-year-old, Rountree Jr has gone on to do better things since his loss to the Moldovan and is currently ranked inside the top 10, whereas Cutelaba is still unranked.
Rountree Jr will likely be hoping to somehow get back into title contention and there are several matchups for him that make more sense.
One of which is a fight against former champion, Jamahal Hill. The two were originally scheduled to fight each other at UFC 303 but Rountree Jr was temporarily suspended.
With both light heavyweights coming off losses, it could be the perfect timing for them to reschedule that bout.
