Julian Marquez almost earned a major celebrity date with Miley Cyrus when he made his debut at the infamous UFC Apex.
Back in the coronavirus era of the UFC, Marquez made his return to the octagon after almost three years in front of an empty Apex. On the undercard of UFC 258 which was headlined by Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns, he submitted Maki Pitolo and made the most of his time after the fight.
However, what followed was perhaps one of the most remarkable fumbles in modern MMA memory as he managed to miss a seemingly open goal. The pop superstar replied, but he was unable to seal the deal in hilarious circumstances.

Julian Marquez asked out Miley Cyrus after massive comeback win
In the octagon, it was a perfect performance from Julian Marquez as he impressively brushed off years of ring rust with a stoppage win. With less than a minute on the clock, he got in an anaconda choke which forced Maki Pitolo to tap.
And his performance after the fight wasn’t bad either. He let fans know that he had been waiting a long time for the chance to start making callouts. And noting that it was just two days to Valentine’s Day, he decided to go a little unconventional while speaking to Joe Rogan.
“I’ve been waiting 31 months to get on this damn mic and to call these people out right now,” he began. “This is my time to shine. So Miley Cyrus, will you be my Valentines?” Rogan then added in: “Miley, you heard the callout, it’s your turn to respond!”
Julian Marquez missed his chance to date Miley Cyrus after awkward Twitter exchange
Surprisingly, a few days after the very public callout, Miley Cyrus actually took to social media to respond. She even seemed interested in the prospect of a date, telling Marquez the one condition he would need.
On Valentine’s Day, none the less, she responded to ESPN MMA on Twitter, writing: “Shave an MC into your chest hair and I am YOURS. Happy VDay and Congrats my love!”
Marquez, however, didn’t jump on the opportunity and instead made a demand of his own immediately after. He wrote in response: “If you get a henna tattoo that says Cuban Missle Crisis above your belly button like 2pac I’m in #ThugLife.”
Fans immediately mocked Marquez for his tweet, declaring it the ‘biggest fumble in MMA’ and comparing it to a missed shot on the basketball court. One even wrote: “Henry Cejudo better step down from his throne, there’s a new king of cringe.”
