Fighting Nerds’ Jean Silva is rapidly becoming a fan favorite in the UFC featherweight division and another win on Saturday at UFC Seattle puts him one step closer to the rankings.
Since his UFC debut last January, Jean Silva has quickly become a contender in the 145lb division, becoming the latest Fighting Nerd to win over the fans.
This past Saturday at UFC Seattle, his impressive form continued when Silva knocked out Melsik Baghdasaryan in the very first round.
Following the fight, the Brazilian called for a fight against Bryce Mitchell and Mitchell has since responded, claiming that he will humble Silva.

Jean Silva tells horrifying story of when he fought with diarrhea
As well as being a phenomenally talented fighter, the 28-year-old’s popularity stems from him having a completely unique personality outside of the cage, similar to his Fighting Nerd teammates.
Prior to bursting onto the scene in the UFC and replicating Khamzat Chimaev by scoring two finishes in two different divisions just 14 days apart, ‘Lord’ Silva was cutting his teeth on the Brazilian regional scene.
During his time on the Brazilian pro scene, Silva ran into a pretty disgusting situation that led to him having to defecate cageside.
“So, there was a fight a long time ago and the event was an open-air venue and I just needed to get out there to fight, and as soon as I got out there to fight, I got diarrhea and it was a pretty s—– situation,” Silva told Full Send MMA following his win this past Saturday.
“Dude, I was getting sick because it was open air, it was cold as s—, I was already trembling and cold and all of a sudden, I felt it. By the cutman when they were just checking me out, I just stepped off to the side and did it right there, man. I had to do it,” he continued.
Silva went on to lose the fight and put it down to his issues moments before entering the cage.
“No, there was no way (I could win), I just changed, got up and the dude beat the s— out of me,” he admitted.
Jean Silva wants to beat the conspiracy theories out of Bryce Mitchell
After Mitchell responded to Silva’s callout accepting the fight, the 28-year-old responded in comical fashion.
“Ok, ok but I’m gonna beat you until you see the earth is round,” Silva hilariously responded on X.
Fortunately for the UFC fanbase, this could be a fight that we see next for the soaring Brazilian contender, as after UFC Seattle, Dana White admitted he is open to the fight when asked about it during the post-fight press conference.
“I bet there’s a lot of people that do (like that fight), we’ll see,” White said at the presser.
