Chael Sonnen joining the Pillow Fight Championship [PFC] was not on our bingo card for 2025.
‘The American Gangster’ is currently filming The Ultimate Fighter 33 alongside Daniel Cormier.
A potential season-ending fight between the UFC legends won’t happen – but they have another idea that could see two of their coaches, Michael Chiesa and Colby Covington, meet inside the Octagon later this year.
By the time that fight comes off, Chael Sonnen could be a Pillow Fight Championship board member.

Chael Sonnen to Pillow Fight Championship?
Dana White recently caused controversy by mocking pillow fighting after UFC 312.
After the UFC boss insulted his unique sport, the Pillow Fight Championship CEO hit back.
Steven Williams proposed a $20million challenge that would pit 10 UFC fighters and 10 PFC stars against each other. A win for White’s roster would lead to the company he insulted being shut down, but a loss would mean he has to become a part-owner of PFC.
An amused Sonnen reacted to the challenge in a 10-minute video shared to his YouTube channel.
Now, in a bizarre twist of fate, the former UFC contender has been dragged into the White-PFC beef.
Willams says he’s offered Sonnen a seat on the Pillow Fight Championship board – but there’s a catch.
Before he can join PFC, the 49-fight MMA veteran must help White if he takes up the $20M challenge.
“I saw Chael Sonnen, he did a phenomenal run down of exactly what this is about,” Williams told Bloody Elbow.
“The world wants to see it. I actually think it could be bigger than any UFC [show]. It could be bigger, no one really knows. I don’t think it’ll be smaller than any of his smallest events.
“Let’s put it this way, if he lets it happen, it’ll be bigger than his smallest event, and it will be an event that’ll bring in an audience that he doesn’t get right now.
“Our rounds are 90 seconds long. You’re talking about 90 seconds of hardcore hitting and defense. When you do an MMA fight, I’m sitting there for five minutes, and sometimes with these rounds, it’s like, ‘Man, when is this going to be over? Nothing’s going on.’
“With Pillow Fighting you actually see that passion all the way through, every second, that you’re waiting for with all the other sports, you get to see that for that short period of time.
“The fighters can’t go anymore. Chael Sonnen couldn’t handle more than three rounds. He’d probably be severely winded by the second round. That would be my guess.”
