Conor McGregor teases Fedor Emelianenko signing
Fedor Emelianenko retired from mixed martial arts after being KO’d by Ryan Bader in February 2023.
The 48-year-old Russian fight legend hasn’t been seen or heard from much since his final MMA bout.
However, he could soon be thrust back into the spotlight by McGregor and his bare-knuckle league.
“Fedor Emelianenko? Stay tuned, we might have an announcement with Fedor Emelianenko,” the former dual-weight UFC champion said.
“Hey, Fedor, we’re waiting. Some news might be coming with Fedor Emelianenko.
“Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is signing and acquiring the best fighters of all time, past, present, and future.”
Joe Rogan names MMA’s heavyweight GOAT
UFC commentary legend Joe Rogan holds Fedor Emelianenko in extremely high regard.
During a recent Fight Companion podcast for UFC 312, Rogan was discussing the olden days of heavyweight MMA when Brendan Schaub suggested that Cain Velasquez may have earned the title of GOAT.
“I think Cain in his prime is the best heavyweight ever,” the former fighter theorized.
But Rogan wasn’t so sure, responding: “It’s hard to say because of Fedor, if you could get juicy Fedor from Pride, I don’t know if anybody beats Fedor in his prime. He was so good, dude, Fedor walked down Cro Cop when he was in his prime.
“You’ve got to remember most of that fight was standing up and Fedor was going blow to blow with Cro Cop and walking him down. That [Kevin] Randelman armbar, he f—— suplexes him on his head and five seconds later he’s got him in a kimura, it’s crazy. He was different, he was a monster.”
After bemoaning the lack of talent at heavyweight in 2025, Rogan will surely be excited to see Emelianenko return to action – even if is in the squared circle with no gloves for McGregor and BKFC.
