Dricus du Plessis had one major issue to complain about in the aftermath of UFC 312.
The UFC middleweight champion smashed Sean Strickland’s nose to pieces en route to a lopsided points win in their main event rematch at the Qudos Arena in Sydney, Australia on Sunday morning local time.
‘DDP’ earned glowing praise from Joe Rogan and countless MMA fans for making it look easy at UFC 312.

Dricus du Plessis reacts to UFC 312 boos
Dricus du Plessis prides himself on having a gung-ho fighting style that the UFC fans love.
However, a section of the crowd didn’t like what they were seeing during his rematch with Strickland.
Loud boos sporadically echoed around the venue and left du Plessis frustrated during his fight.
After getting his hand raised, the 31-year-old suggested Strickland was to blame for the booing fans.
“I don’t put on boring fights,” du Plessis told Full Send MMA.
“I don’t have the ability because I don’t know how to fight like that. When I heard the boos, in my mind they are 100 percent towards him. And if it was towards me, you are stupid, anyone who booed.
“I went forward the whole time. At the stage when I heard the boos, it drove me crazy. I was like ‘Come on, dude. Fight me!’ The first and second round, I was piecing him up. In that third round, he was kind of just evading.
“I got super frustrated because people pay a lot of money to be here and I wanna give the fans a show.
“That irritated me. That makes me crazy. I’ll have to rewatch it. If it was boring, I’m really sorry, that’s not my fault. I went forward. I wanted to fight. I know there was times where it wasn’t a war, but it’s not my fault. I went forward and I wanted to fight.”
Dricus du Plessis details post-fight conversation with Sean Strickland
Du Plessis and Strickland clearly have a ton of respect for each other after sharing 10 rounds inside the Octagon.
Still, that didn’t stop the middleweight champion poking fun at his rival in the aftermath of their UFC 312 fight.
“I told him that he was ugly before obviously when we fought because he’s not a pretty person but when I saw him after that when I hit him in the nose I said, ‘Wow, I can’t believe you got uglier’ and he did, I was like, ‘Your nose is so screwed up now’,” du Plessis said in the post-fight press conference.
“He tried to break his nose back in the middle of the fight and for some weird reason, I was giving him the opportunity,” he added. “I was like, okay, let him get his nose (back in place) and then I was like, no, punch this guy in the face while he’s trying to do this.”
