Quillan Salkilld knocks out Anshul Jubli
Quillan Salkilld got the Aussie fight fans out of their seats just seconds into the first UFC 312 fight.
The 25-year-old made his promotional debut as a hot favorite against Indian fighter Anshul Jubli, who got knocked out in the third round of his sophmore Octagon bout by Mike Breeden after earning a stoppage win in his own UFC debut.
Ulimately, Salkilld ended the fight with the first meaninful shot he threw. A massive overhand right sent his opponent crashing to the canvas before the referee stepped in to wave things off without any follow up punches landing.
Jubli protested the stoppage, but he had hit the floor hard and seemed destined to get his lights put out.
The 30-year-old has now dropped to 7-2 as a professional MMA fighter after back-to-back UFC losses.
In contrast, Salkilld boasts a 8-1 record after winning every fight since getting choked out in his debut.
