‘Joker and Batman’ face off at UFC weigh-ins as Wang Cong and Bruna Brasil don superhero personas

The second UFC PPV card of 2025 is now just one sleep away with the Octagon returning to the Qudos Bank Arena.

UFC 312 taking place in Sydney means that the fight card prominently features talent from this region with eight fighters set to compete who represent either Australia or New Zealand.

One of four fights to not feature a home fighter, including the two title fights, sees Wang Cong take on Bruna Brasil in a flyweight matchup on the prelims.

Both women have produced impressive striking displays inside the Octagon which should make for an interesting clash.

Whilst Brasil is coming off the biggest win of her career at UFC 304 where she dominated Molly McCann over three rounds, her opponent will be looking to bounce back from a shock defeat in Macau last November where she was submitted by Gabriella Fernandes.

Wang Cong and Bruna Brasil don face paint and the cowl for a batman vs joker face off

Wang Cong made quite the impression on her UFC debut back in August last year when she stopped Victoria Leonardo in just over a minute.

The Chinese fighter also drew attention to herself before she had even stepped inside the Octagon when she lived up to her nickname of ‘The Joker’ by impersonating the clown prince of crime at the weigh-ins.

After doing the same thing for her second UFC outing, her theatrics were anticipated by Bruna Brasil who trains out of the Fighting Nerds stable in Brazil.

Brasil came to the UFC 312 face offs prepared which led to a stare down between two arch rivals when she put on a Batman mask to confront her opponent as “The Dark Knight”.

A win at UFC 312 would be huge for Wang Cong or Bruna Brasil

Wang Cong and Bruna Brasil come into this fight at UFC 312 in different positions but a win could do big things for either of them.

The Chinese striker turned a lot of heads when she entered the promotion but her loss last time out attracted a lot of negativity because she was a big favorite heading into Macau.

As for Brasil, she may have alternated wins and losses in her first four Octagon outings but the gym she comes from are absolutely flying right now and capitalizing on that momentum could see her ascend up the division quickly.

Considering what we have seen from both women in recent times, the fans inside the Qudos Bank Arena on February 8 should be in for an exciting contest when they go head-to-head on the prelims.
