Jake Paul has fired verbal shots at Canelo Alvarez after the Mexican steered clear of facing him inside the boxing ring.
According to reports, the legend has chosen to box Terence Crawford instead as part of a four-fight deal with Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh season.
This decision leaves the YouTuber out in the cold and in need of a new opponent.
Of course, this has rendered Paul furious, with rivals such as KSI utilizing the situation to make fun of him.

Jake Paul claims Canelo Alvarez has ‘ducked him’
The idea of a fight between Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez made little sense, considering the YouTuber has previously suffered a loss at the hands of Tommy Fury, while his counterpart has solidified his status as one of the all-time greats.
Regardless, in a testament to his promotional skills, the Cleveland brawler almost made the clash a reality until it seemingly disintegrated at the eleventh hour.
Unsurprisingly, the news hasn’t gone down too well with Paul, who’s taken the opportunity to head to Instagram, to launch a verbal onslaught against the man he’s always claimed he wanted to fight.
The social media star raged: “Breaking news: Canelo Alvarez ducked me, Jake Paul, and is now an owned slave with no regard for the pride of the Mexican people who support him on US soil.
“It’s not surprising, when his whole career, he has done nothing for the sport of boxing outside the ring. I’m the new face of boxing. You cannot have the biggest fight of 2025 without my name involved.
“When all of your events tank and lose money, you will all realize who the king of the sport is. 28 years old. Biggest fight in boxing history. My own boss. Not owned. Five years in. All of you felines want to see me fail, but God has other plans. It’s the era of good. The era of the elephant. It’s the era of MVP.”
Canelo Alvarez breaks silence on fighting Terence Crawford over Jake Paul
While Paul seemingly wanted the bout, Canelo had other plans, deciding a match-up with Crawford was the right way to go.
While for many fans, the clash between two of boxing’s best won’t appeal due to the size disparity, it will still likely get their juices flowing far more so than a match-up between an icon and a man who only took up boxing a few years ago.
With the decision now made, Canelo has broken his silence about picking Crawford over Paul.
