Charles Oliveira gives shock response to ‘hardest-hitting opponent’ question during UFC 312 Q&A

Charles Oliveira has shared the cage, with many a power puncher, but when asked to name the hardest hitter he’s ever faced, only one man came to mind.

Renowned for his incredible Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills, ‘Do Bronxs’ possesses the capabilities of wrapping his arms and legs around an opponent and squeezing like a python to force them into submission.

However, while the warrior is ruthless in the grappling department, he’s never shy of trading on the feet.

And because of this, he’s taken some thunderous blows off an array of top-level opponents.

Sheesh: He’s fought Dustin Poirier, Charles Oliveira, and Arman Tsarukyan – but he claims no one gave him a tougher fight than ‘The Great’

Charles Oliveira says he hits harder than anyone he’s fought

Charles Oliveira has taken some vicious shots on the chin from a plethora of icons renowned for their one-punch knockout power.

Therefore, when asked during a UFC 312 Q&A about who’s belted him the hardest, he certainly wasn’t short of options.

However, rather than naming one of his former rivals, the MMA star ended up coming to the conclusion, that he’s actually the biggest puncher.

Oliveira enthused: “It’s very hard to answer, but [I’ve fought] Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Michael Chandler. When I fought Justin Gaethje, they said, ‘He’s the guy who hits the hardest’.

“When I hit him, he folded. So, I’ll tell you what — the guy who hits the hardest is me. I’m the problem of this division; I’m going for the BMF belt as well. I’m the one to do it.”

With Oliveira having felt disrespected by the UFC before he fought Gaethje, it’s no major surprise that he took the opportunity to fire a shot at his old foe.

Max Holloway accepts Charles Oliveira’s BMF callout

With Oliveira determined to fight for the BMF title, fans can now hope that a dream rematch between the 35-year-old and Max Holloway comes to fruition.

The pair first fought on August 23, 2015, with ‘Blessed’ walking away the victor, via first-round TKO.

However, in the years since, the Sao Paulo native has improved immensely, adding massive intrigue as to what would happen if the pair were to go to war again.

With that in mind, Holloway is more than happy to give Oliveira a shot at the BMF throne.
