Kevin Lee issues furious response to leaked footage of him being dropped in sparring

Kevin Lee has recently once again been making the headlines after sparring footage was unfortunately leaked.

Kevin Lee was once regarded as one of the most promising prospects in the UFC lightweight division but after coming up short in an interim title fight against Tony Ferguson, his career took an unfortunate turn.

‘The Mowtown Phenom’ subsequently left the promotion in 2021 after a loss to Daniel Rodriguez but returned shortly after and lost to Rinat Fakhretdinov.

Following that, Lee once again left the promotion and has recently signed with GFL and was drafted to their New York team roster.

Kevin Lee furiously responds to leaked sparring footage

Ahead of his impending comeback to the cage for GFL, Lee has gotten back onto the mats for sparring to prepare for his fight.

Unfortunately as has become quite the regular occurrence in MMA, footage was recently leaked of Lee getting knocked out by his sparring partner.

In the video, the former UFC interim title challenger attempts to land a jumping knee but pulls out in the last second as it is only sparring, however, he was met with a huge overhand that put him on the floor.

Lee attempted to stand up but wobbled backward and was helped back to his feet by UFC legend, Robbie Lawler.

The fighter who landed the knockout blow was Mirali Huseynov, a 9-3 welterweight who fights for Urijah Faber’s promotion, Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat. After the footage was posted on several MMA pages, Huseynov pleaded with fans to take it off social media, to no avail.

Lee has also now reacted to the footage going viral, imploring that he will find out who shot the footage at Kill Cliff MMA.

“I don’t know who posted that video or why but I’m heading right now to find out. I can only blame myself for showing mercy and pulling my knee back but it’s training so I thought let me not blast him.

“I see I shouldn’t have been playing around with a guy like that. Since mfs wanna start showing sparring, imma start showing sparrings from now on,” he continued.

Kevin Lee stepped away from MMA career to pursue other passion

Although the 32-year-old was once regarded as one of the top prospects in the sport, when things started going downhill in his career, he decided to take a break and pursue one of his other passions.

‘The Mowtown Phenom’ is the brother of famous food reviewer and former Bellator fighter, Keith Lee. Lee posts videos on TikTok where he reviews food around America and rates them.

After seeing the success of his brother outside of fighting, Kevin decided to follow in similar footsteps and brought his own food truck van.

From his food truck called, ‘Braised’ in Hollywood Florida, Lee specializes in making braised meats and Caribbean cuisine.
