Conor McGregor gets into heated confrontation with fan shouting ‘Let’s go Khabib’

Conor McGregor and a fan of his former rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, got into a heated altercation while the former UFC champ was on a leisure walk.

UFC legends Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will likely never be on respectful terms for the rest of their lives. This was further evidenced by a recent incident involving McGregor and a Nurmagomedov fan that nearly turned into a chaotic scene.

Almost seven full years since their UFC 229 lightweight title clash, tensions remain high between McGregor and Nurmagomedov. Things between the two sides reignited after McGregor’s fellow countryman, Paul Hughes, irked McGregor by showing respect to Khabib after a PFL Champions Series fight with the UFC Hall of Famer’s cousin Usman.

This resulted in McGregor repeatedly attacking Hughes on social media and making several disparaging comments about Hughes’ Northern Ireland upbringing. McGregor went as far as to encourage Hughes to ‘eat lead’ in a wild tirade on X.

While McGregor and Nurmagomedov haven’t come face-to-face since their UFC Octagon clash, McGregor got into a heated confrontation with a random Nurmagomedov fan while out with his security team.

Conor McGregor spits on a fan after yelling ‘Let’s go Khabib!’ during random encounter

In footage reshared by Verdict, a Nurmagomedov fan yelled at McGregor ‘Let’s go Khabib!’ as the former two-division champion walked with his team. McGregor then reversed course to confront the fan.

After coming within inches of the fan, McGregor proceeded to spit in the fan’s face, to the astonishment of the fan and witnesses. McGregor then yelled at the fan ‘I spit in your face and what did you do? Nothing!’ before all parties eventually separated.

Check out the full footage of the incident involving McGregor and the fan below.

Conor McGregor faces potential lawsuit after spitting on Khabib fan

The unnamed fan could potentially take legal action against McGregor after spitting in his face. As of this writing, there’s no indication that the fan will move forward with any potential suit against McGregor, but that could change in the coming weeks.

This is the latest chapter of McGregor and Nurmagomedov’s long, tense feud in and out of the Octagon. Nurmagomedov retired from fighting in 2020, eliminating any potential rematch between him and McGregor in the cage.

Outside of it, Nurmagomedov predicted how a street fight with McGregor would play out with a chilling assessment. McGregor called Nurmagomedov’s recent criticism of Irish MMA ‘sickening’ as their rivalry re-ignited outside of the cage.

McGregor hasn’t fought since a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Since then, McGregor teased a boxing match against Logan Paul and repeatedly targeted an MMA return.

Time tends to heal most wounds, but tensions between McGregor and Nurmagomedov remain as high as they’ve ever been in or out of the cage.
