‘Cameo of the year’… Nate Diaz and Theo Von excite fans by teaming up for new movie

Former UFC superstar Nate Diaz and comedian Theo Von will share the big screen in an upcoming film.

Nate Diaz and Theo Von are teaming up for an upcoming movie produced by comedy and Hollywood legend David Spade. Diaz, who hasn’t fought in the UFC Octagon since a main event win at UFC 279, is keeping busy amidst his ongoing combat sports free agency.

Von, an avid UFC fan and popular comedian, has acted in smaller roles during his entertainment career. This will be Diaz’s first acting role, albeit in an unspecified presence in the movie.

Von shared the news of the in-development film on his social media and garnered mostly positive reviews, especially after revealing Diaz’s involvement.

Fans go ballistic as Nate Diaz features in upcoming Theo Von-starring movie

In a recent Instagram post, Von announced his in-the-works film featuring Diaz and comedy legend David Spade.

“What’s up everybody! I’m working on a movie,” Von said. “We wrote it, paying for it, and it’s our own thing. We don’t need anybody to help us make it, and we made it…”

Fans had a lot to say about the Von/Diaz collab.

“Man wth Nate Diaz doing there [LAUGHS]” one fan wrote.

“Cameo of the Year!”

“Nathan Diaz is there as a body guard.”

“Nate Diaz and Theo Von in a David Spade movie? Take every cent I have.”

“Nate Diaz and Chris Avila w.”

“They got Nate on this holy.”

As of this writing, Diaz hasn’t opened up on the Von-starring film and what his role will be. Diaz defeated former BMF foe Jorge Masvidal for his first professional boxing victory last year.

Diaz is targeting a potential return to the UFC after two boxing ring appearances. Before the win over Masvidal, Diaz fell to Jake Paul by unanimous decision in his boxing debut.

Nate Diaz remains a free agent amidst speculation of a UFC reunion

A free agent as of this writing, Diaz could potentially return to the UFC after a multiple-year hiatus. A trilogy with Conor McGregor and potential fights with the likes of Dustin Poirier and other top names are possible options for the Stockton star’s MMA comeback.

Diaz is one of the biggest UFC fan favorites despite his cage absence. During his MMA career, he’s defeated the likes of Tony Ferguson, Donald Cerrone, and McGregor in his Octagon tenure.

Diaz’s teammate, Chris Avila, is also involved in the Von/Spade-featuring film in an undisclosed role. Avila defeated former UFC champion Anthony Pettis in his most recent boxing match last July.

The upcoming film’s title, along with additional details, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
