Mike Perry tells all about appearing on Russian fight promotion where he nearly got into a fight

Mike Perry has had more than his fair share of physical and verbal exchanges over the years, with his run-in with ‘The Bald Predator’ being one of his most entertaining of the lot.

While his foe is certainly an intimidating individual, the American is never one to back down from confrontation.

Therefore, when the Eastern European warrior got in his face, unsurprisingly, the situation escalated past the point of return.

Suddenly, both men were launching shots, forcing concerned security members to intervene.

Mike Perry states what happened in Magomed Ismailov clash

In his esteemed career, Mike Perry has become a real fan favorite, with the MMA community watching in awe as he’s broken opponents down under an unrelenting wave of pressure, with Eddie Alvarez and Michael ‘Venom’ Page succumbing to his ferocious work rate.

However, it’s not just his fighting style, that’s resonated with the public, but his refusal to back down from a challenge, with the charismatic athlete once traveling to Moscow, Russia, to corner his teammate and somehow ended up throwing shots at combat sports icon Magomed Ismailov.

In an interview with The Overdogs Podcast, he laughed: “I never gave them a chance. I’ve been seeing this stage on Instagram, and people get knocked out here, and they would love to try and do me like this.

“I was there to corner Alex ‘The Spartan’ Nicholson, against a 30-1 Russian guy, named, Vagab Vagabov, and they were trying to get me to bring some attention to Magomed Ismailov, who is a pretty famous Russian fighter over there.

“I knew facing-off that he was going to try and hit me, so I was defending everything. He was flinching, and I was jumping. But I was prepared to defend myself.

“I said ‘motherf***er’ and he’s like, ‘What did you say about my mother’? He tried to punch me, and I blocked it with my arm, and I slapped his a** right there on the neck.”

Of course, it’s this very attitude that has made ‘Platinum’ so popular with BKFC founder David Feldman, who’s made him one of the biggest stars in his promotion.

And while ‘The Notorious’ threatened to fire him after his loss to Jake Paul, Conor McGregor changed his mind, naming his ideal opponent for Perry.

Regardless, in order to get anything over the line, Feldman must first get approval from Dana White.

Mike Perry’s friend got KO’d after his clash with Magomed Ismailov

While Perry was too slick for Ismailov, landing a slap on his rival’s neck, unfortunately, his teammate fell short when he set foot in the cage.

Despite having previously competed at a higher level, Nicholson struggled to cope with the explosive bombs launched in his direction during his showdown with Vagabov.

In the main event of the REN TV Superfight Series card, the American suffered a shocking loss, with the crowd favorite rendering him unconscious inside the very first round.

The heartbreaking defeat ended what had undeniably been a very eventful trip to the Russian capital.
