With the sport of MMA growing exponentially, each year we see some bizarre promotions created with different rules and regulations to the standard MMA.
The UFC continues to increase in power in the world of MMA and fans are always hopeful that a new promotion will be able to come in and rival them.
Earlier this year, the GFL announced it would hold its inaugural event in April and recently conducted their Draft ahead of the season, which is a unique aspect of their promotion.
Despite that, there are even more niche promotions in the world of MMA, and former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jiri Prochazka has a bizarre idea for a new one.

Jiri Prochazka explains crazy idea for new combat sports promotion
MMA fans around the world will likely have seen viral videos of the combat sports promotion, ‘Car Jitsu’, where combatants sit in the front seats of a car and attempt to submit each other.
Another viral promotion that fans may have seen is where combatants gear up with armor and swords and step into the cage to try and score a win.
‘The Last Samurai’, Prochazka, has a similar idea for a combat sports promotion as he suggests, ‘give them weapons’. During an appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator suggested a combat sports event where the two combatants fight on a matted basketball court.
“That’s why I think a basketball court. Matted down basketball court, just two men in the center of it, have a warning track where you go outside the warning track too many times, you lose points,” Rogan said.
“Right now I’m just thinking about the Hunger Games, just put somebody and somebody somewhere and they will find each other in the natural environment and they will fight together and everybody will watch that, so give them weapons,” Prochazka replied.
Jiri Prochazka and Joe Rogan discuss Alex Pereira’s ‘black magic’
Outside of their bizarre discussion on unique combat sports ideas, Prochazka and Rogan also discussed the former champion’s previous comments about Alex Pereira using ‘black magic’ ahead of his fights.
‘The Last Samurai’ has historically stated that he believes ‘Poatan’ has an advantage in his fights because he uses ‘spiritual things’ to help him win.
Despite that, the 32-year-old is hopeful that following his recent win at UFC 311, he has earned the chance to avenge his two losses to Pereira and overcome the ‘black magic’ claims.
