Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans has been added to a long list of fighters who have denied signing with GFL despite announcements.
Earlier this year the Global Fight League announced that they would finally run its inaugural show this coming April, in an attempt to offer an alternative product to the UFC.
With that, this past Friday, the promotion ran its draft, in which fighters were selected for specific team locations.
Despite that, earlier in the week, the promotion came under much scrutiny after they announced the signings of several fighters, only for the fighters to quickly come out and deny they had signed, one of which being Rashad Evans.

Rashad Evans denies GFL signing as he offers Rampage update
The draft wasn’t a huge success as it came with its plethora of technical difficulties, along with the announcements of signings that hadn’t been made.
Following both of their exits from the UFC and subsequent retirements, ‘Sugar’ Evans and Rampage Jackson have been in constant discussions regarding a potential rematch of their big rivalry.
The two have previously announced that they have been in talks to fight in the boxing ring, however, during the draft, the GFL used a graphic that indicated that Evans had been drafted to the LA team.
“I don’t know how Rashad is on here when I’m scheduled to beat his ass in April,” Jackson said on X.
“I’m NOT!! Let me be clear! The only commitment I have is to lay your ass out in April!! I was added to this without my consent. You ain’t off the hook that easy!” Evans replied.
Other fighters that have denied signing with GFL
Despite the promotion having announced a lot of premature signings, they did in fact sign Tony Ferguson earlier this week following his exit from the UFC.
GFL announced the signing of former UFC fighter and current Oktagon star, Andreas Michalidis but Oktagon disputed the claim and revealed that he is still in a long-term contract with them.
PFL Mena fighter, Tariq Ismail pulled the promotion up for ‘fake news’ after they announced they’d signed him.
