Comedian Theo Von had a front row seat for Conor McGregor and Logan Paul’s back-and-forth banter amidst their recent fight talks.
Conor McGregor and Logan Paul had an unexpected face-to-face run-in while attending the recent U.S. presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. McGregor, Logan, and Jake Paul shared transportation to the various inauguration festivities, and while things were mostly playful between all parties, tensions are brewing after recent fight talks.
McGregor and Logan were linked to a boxing match in India in recent weeks in a rumored $500 million booking. But negotiations have stalled in recent days as McGregor and Logan are contractually locked up by the UFC and WWE.
Comedian Theo Von was on the bus with McGregor, Logan and Jake during their viral banter in the U.S. Capitol. He gave his first-hand account about what was going through his mind when McGregor and the Paul brothers exchanged barbs regarding potential fights, recent negotiations, and McGregor’s stalled UFC career.

Theo Von deep dives into Conor McGregor’s ‘Aura’ during Logan Paul confrontation
In a recent episode of his This Past Weekend podcast, Von shared what happened when McGregor and the Pauls crossed paths.
“Right before we start to get in the bus, that’s when Conor McGregor rolls up,” Von said of McGregor’s interactions with the Pauls. “His suit – it was perfectly fitted, like the suit had just been stitched right around him just a second before he walked in…him and the Pauls had conflicting online, you don’t see me in the gossip columns and all that, grown men arguing on the internet…he was the Notre Dame mascot but he was twice as bad as the f***ing little mascot guy they had…
“His aura was at about 6,000…and I’m not even sure what the exchange rate of that was. Karate Kid of Ireland. He’s a savage.”
McGregor is targeting a return to MMA by year’s end after a nearly four-year absence from competition. He hasn’t fought since injuring his leg against Dustin Poirier in their UFC 264 trilogy fight.
Paul is targeting a return to the boxing ring in between WWE gigs, as he hasn’t fought since a disqualification win over McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis in 2023.
Conor McGregor vs. Logan Paul hits a roadblock after recent fight teases
McGregor and the Pauls have traded barbs for years amidst the influencers’ unprecedented rise in combat sports. While McGregor and Jake initially appeared destined for a boxing match, things haven’t panned out, and Logan was McGregor’s recent callout target for his boxing return.
McGregor was supposed to headline UFC 303 last year against Michael Chandler before withdrawing due to a toe injury. UFC CEO Dana White is expecting McGregor to return to the Octagon in the latter part of the year, more than four years since his last Octagon appearance.
In the meantime, McGregor vs. Paul fight talks appear dead, despite the excitement the matchup generated online. While the two parties are tied up contractually, that doesn’t mean the fight won’t take place in the future, especially with the likely revenue it would generate.
