Conor McGregor called out by BKFC star who wants to ‘beat up the boss’ and settle old UFC rivalry

Conor McGregor’s continued involvement in BKFC sees him constantly called out by the active fighters on the roster and Jeremy Stephens is the most recent to do so.

This coming Saturday, Jeremy Stephens makes his third appearance under the BKFC banner when he takes on fellow former UFC star, Eddie Alvarez at BKFC Knuckle Mania 5.

Despite both fighters being in the UFC during the same era, ‘Lil Heathen’ competed at 145lbs whereas ‘The Underground King’ competed at lightweight.

Ahead of their meeting in Philadelphia this Saturday, Stephens has highlighted his new boss, Conor McGregor as someone he wants to fight.

Jeremy Stephens calls out Conor McGregor to finally settle rivalry

Stephens and McGregor have got a lot of history with each other despite having never fought each other or having never been booked to fight each other.

When ‘The Notorious’ was reigning over the featherweight division and he was on his way up to 155lb to take on Rafael dos Anjos, he and Stephens had a run in at the UFC 205 press conference which turned into one of the most memorable moments in UFC history.

After the Irishman mocked Stephens, they never ended up fighting each other in the UFC as they were at opposite stages of their careers.

Despite that, with McGregor now part-owner of BKFC, Stephens wants to ‘beat up the boss’ and get him into the ring.

“Here I am, still doing it and showing no signs of slowing down and hopefully I get a chance to beat up my f****** boss too,” Stephens said on The Ariel Helwani Show.

“Yeah, that’s the delusion, right, so I feel like if I just stay focussed and keep this championship mindset and things dialed in, Saturday night’s the only thing I’m worried about. I go in there and do my job and I handle business, who better?

“A lot of people are like ‘Who the f*** is this guy?’ but look, he got taken out by calf kicks, he’s been knocked out, I’ve continued to grow… I’ve continued to rise,” he continued.

Will Conor McGregor compete in BKFC?

McGregor’s comeback to combat sports is extremely unclear as of now and earlier this year he claimed he was in talks to take on Logan Paul in a boxing fight in India.

Despite that, those talks seem to have fizzled out and fans are left wondering when he may return to combat.

Since becoming part-owner of BKFC, the former double champion has teased that he would like to eventually compete under the banner, however, it is expected to take place any time soon with his UFC return expected this year.
