Alex Pereira’s life before becoming one of the biggest UFC stars is well-documented as the Brazilian used to work in a tire repair shop to fund his combat sports journey.
When ‘Poatan’ was working his way up the kickboxing world, he worked in a tire repair shop in Brazil and admitted that he was an alcoholic.
Fortunately, Alex Pereira turned his life around and became one of the best kickboxers in the world before transitioning to MMA and becoming one of the biggest stars in the UFC after such a short amount of time.
‘Poatan’ isn’t the only fighter in the family, though. His sister Aline Pereira hopes to achieve the same success as her brother in kickboxing and MMA.

Aline Pereira works part-time as an Amazon delivery driver
Similarly to her brother, Aline also works part-time whilst pursuing her fight career as she works as an Amazon delivery driver.
The 34-year-old hasn’t experienced anywhere near the same sort of success as ‘Poatan’ yet as she is 2-2 in kickboxing and 1-2 in MMA following her debut on LFA in 2022.
Despite that, she did pick up a win at Karate Combat this past October and is scheduled for her second appearance in the pit on January 24.
Ahead of her Karate Combat fight against Gisela Luna, Pereira has admitted how difficult it is to balance her job as an Amazon delivery driver as well as training and preparing to fight.
“I do deliveries for Amazon and we do what we have to do. This routine is very tiresome because we still have to accommodate the training hours and the job, but it all works out in the end,” she told MMA Fighting.
“It’s not easy… We do deliveries for four and a half hours. But it’s great to be here. The United States is very good for me and my son, too,” she continued.
Will Aline Pereira be able to replicate Alex’s success?
With ‘Poatan’ having turned into one of the biggest stars in combat sports, Aline is hopeful of following his blueprint to become a big star of her own.
Despite the fact that she is 34 years old, Alex didn’t get into the UFC until he was 34 years old too, meaning she still has time to earn herself a contract.
Pereira on the other hand has his next title fight booked as he will defend his 205lb title against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313.
