Joe Rogan discusses how he coped with infamous Derrick Lewis interview

Since he first arrived in the world of UFC, Joe Rogan has had the job of chatting with some of the world’s best fighters right in the aftermath of their biggest accomplishments.

In these moments, many a mixed martial artist will deliver an epic call-out or perhaps deliver a profound message to the crowd. But not Derrick Lewis — he does things a little differently.

At UFC 229, inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, ‘The Black Beast’ landed a truly spectacular right hand to render Alexander Volkov unconscious.

Following the fight, bizarrely, the power puncher decided to remove his shorts, before delivering one of the most peculiar lines of all time.

On an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the MMA aficionado reminisced: “Derrick Lewis just beats this dude and takes his pants off.

He’s standing in the octagon with no pants on, and I’m interviewing him like, ‘Derrick, congratulations, why did you take your pants off’? He goes, ‘My balls was hot’, I said, ‘I understand’.

Derrick is the man. I was ready for it. My job there is just to get out of them the best expression that they can give. I never try and make anything funny.”

Joe Rogan reveals his favorite UFC fighter to interview of all-time

While the Lewis interview has undeniably gone down in MMA folklore, the heavyweight isn’t the only entertaining athlete Rogan has spoken with.

In his esteemed career, the American has chatted with some of the best talkers in the business, including Conor McGregor and Michael Bisping.

However, in the eyes of the podcast host, only one man deserves the title of the best UFC fighter to interview.
