Belal Muhammad has taken umbrage with comments made by Kamaru Usman in the aftermath of UFC 311.
Muhammad is the current UFC welterweight champion, while Usman rides a three-fight losing streak. However, this hasn’t stopped ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ commenting on a potential matchup between Muhammad and lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
On his Pound 4 Pound podcast on January 20, Usman said Makhachev should move up to take Muhammad’s belt, casting aside the brotherhood narrative that Makhachev alleges is stopping him from fighting Muhammad.
Safe to say Muhammad wasn’t happy with the remarks.

Belal Muhammad slams Kamaru Usman, tells him to break losing streak and rebrand his podcast
Reacting to Usman’s comments on X, Muhammad ordered him to “stop speaking my name” before bashing his losing streak and choice of podcast branding.
“Stop speaking my name until you finally end your losing streak,” Muhammad wrote. “Or you change the podcast name to ‘loss after loss’.”
There is a world where Muhammad and Usman fight. While Usman is on a three-fight skid, only two of those were at welterweight, both to Leon Edwards in title fights. Until then, Usman will have to grind his way back into the title picture.
Belal Muhammad doubles down on Kamaru Usman roast
On the same X thread where Muhammad replied to Usman, one fan commented on Usman’s absence at UFC 311, where Muhammad was in attendance.
“My boy [Muhammad] was at least at UFC 311,” They wrote. “Where was Usman?”
Muhammad replied with another dig at Usman, referring to their unreleased podcast episode where Muhammad allegedly riled Usman and nearly fought on set.
“He can’t go to events I’m at any more because I’ll make him cry again,” Muhammad replied.
Neither Muhammad or Usman have any fight news. Muhammad is expected to face Shavkat Rakhmonov this year, and a loss would certainly put him in position to squash the beef with Usman.
