Joe Rogan’s rib-crushing kicks leave UFC fans speechless

When fight fans think of brutal kickers in MMA, they think of Edson Barboza, Mirko Cro Cop, or prime Jose Aldo; They don’t think of UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Most people know Rogan as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, but he has a hefty background in Taekwondo and Muay Thai, possessing some truly cruel kicks. He even taught UFC GOAT Georges St-Pierre how to improve his side kick. Up until recently, Rogan held the record for strongest kick on the PowerKube, a measurement device for martial artists.

But for the most part, Rogan’s roundhouse kicks seem like a one-way ticket to the hospital. Fortunately for fans, there are plenty of videos of Rogan’s kicks, whether you want to absorb his technique or simply watch in amazement at his deceptive power.

Joe Rogan’s insane roundhouse and spinning kicks

Rogan’s kicks sound like gunshots on the PowerKube scoring machine. He recorded over 150,000 units on the device, which is more than Francis Ngannou’s recorded 129,000 unit punch.

His kicks on the machine are also stronger than that of Joe Schilling, a former GLORY world champion. These days, Schilling is most well known for knocking out a layman in a bar in 2021.

Rogan is famous for his form-perfect side kicks, spinning back kicks and spinning heel kicks. He effortlessly sends a floor-to-ceiling Muay Thai bag crashing against the wall in one video, where he is joined by 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu’s Eddie Bravo.

Joe Rogan rewatches his viral knockout video

Viral footage of Rogan flooring an opponent with a spinning back kick at the 1987 Taekwondo US Cup tournament took the internet by storm. He reacted to the video as part of his podcast in 2017.

“That was me with the walk-off (knockout),” Rogan sighed.
