Chris Curtis controversially stopped after brutal kick with just one second to go

At UFC Vegas 101, Chris Curtis and Roman Kopylov put on a truly tremendous fight, with both men going above and beyond to get the victory.

In the first round, the Russian looked nothing short of tremendous, oozing class as he connected with slick combinations.

However, going into the second segment, Curtis grew into the contest, slowly breaking down his opponent and landing excellent shots of his own.

But in the third, Kopylov bounced back, wobbling his rival on numerous occasions, before connecting with a magnificent head kick right on the button.

The shot sent Curtis tumbling towards the canvas. However, while dazed, he certainly wasn’t out. Therefore, with just a second left to go, it seemed likely that he’d go the distance.

But in a major shock, the referee deemed the fighter unable to continue, calling a halt to the action, and consequently leaving the loser fuming.

However, despite his issues with the decision, the result stands.
