‘Busy year’… Mark Zuckerberg provides MMA debut update after Elon Musk fight talks

Mark Zuckerberg has been asked if he still plans to make his mixed martial arts debut.

The Facebook billionaire was previously linked to a fight with fellow tech mogul Elon Musk.

UFC boss Dana White believes Zuckerberg vs Musk would be the ‘biggest fight ever done’.

Unfortunately, the Meta CEO suffered an ACL injury that derailed the matchup in November 2023.

Mark Zuckerberg tells Joe Rogan he still wants to fight

UFC legend Joe Rogan recently had MMA fanatic Mark Zuckerberg on his uber-popular podcast.

Naturally, the long-time fight commentator took an interest in his guest’s new career in combat sports, which has previously seen Zuckerberg claim gold in a BJJ competition.

Rogan asked if the 40-year-old is still planning to fight after recovering from a very serious knee injury.

“I want to… And I think I probably will, but we’ll see,” Zuckerberg replied.

“2025 is going to be a very busy year on the AI side. I think the idea of having a competition, you really need to get into the headspace of ‘I’m going to fight someone this week’.

“So, I need to figure this out because I don’t know how with everything that’s going on in AI, how I’m going to have like a week or two where I can just get into this like, ‘I’m gonna to fight someone [mindset]’.

“It’s good training and I would like to [fight] at some point.”

Mark Zuckerberg hires Dana White

Earlier this week, Dana White shocked the world by revealing he had accepted a new role at Meta.

The MMA legend was announced as one of three new members joining the American multinational conglomerate’s Board of Directors.

“I’ve never been interested in joining a board of directors until I got the offer to join Meta’s board,” White said in a press release as part of the announcement. “I am a huge believer that social media and AI are the future.

“I am very excited to join this incredible team and to learn more about this business from the inside. There is nothing I love more than building brands, and I look forward to helping take Meta to the next level.”

Thankfully for MMA fans, White’s new role away from fighting won’t impact his day job at the UFC.
