Following a few days of seeing Khabib Nurmagomedov slam Irish MMA, Conor McGregor has now hit back at his longtime rival.
The lightweight pair share what is still regarded as the biggest rivalry the sport of MMA has ever seen and when they fought at UFC 229 in 2018, things only escalated and worsened.
After Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor in the fourth round of their main event, ‘The Eagle’ decided he wasn’t done there and launched himself over the Octagon and into McGregor’s corner team, sparking one of the biggest out-of-cage melees ever.

Khabib Nurmagomedov continues his tirade of Irish MMA
Earlier this week, Nurmagomedov launched a vicious attack on Irish MMA as a whole, which of course also insinuated McGregor.
During an interview, the Russian claimed that Ireland doesn’t have any fighters and that the upcoming fight between Khabib’s cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov, and Bellator lightweight title challenger, Paul Hughes, isn’t ‘Russia vs Ireland 2’.
This of course provoked a response from Hughes who claimed that McGregor made Nurmagomedov famous and that the only thing Dagestan is number one at is ‘juicing’.
Despite that, Khabib went on to back up his original point, saying: “You can say whatever you want but if we’re talking about facts, you can’t compare Irish fighter from Dagestan. We dominate amateur MMA, and it’s not even close.
“I’m absolutely confident that if we were to organize a team vs team matchup, Dagestan would defeat a world team in amateur MMA. And when it comes to professional MMA, we have champions, contenders, and ranked fighters in every major league.
“Show me Irish fighters who are currently title contenders in the top 3 MMA promotions. At best, you might be able to name 1 or 2 fighters. The facts speak for themselves,” he continued.
Conor McGregor fires back at Khabib Nurmagomedov with a bizarre video
Having sat back and listened to ‘The Eagles’ tirade of Irish MMA, ‘The Notorious’ decided to finally hit back at Nurmagomedov in a pretty bizarre and comical way.
Since he has been inactive from fighting, fans have come to understand that the Irishman is pretty active on social media, however, he has grown the reputation for deleting his posts.
This time, though, McGregor posted a minute-and-a-half video titled ‘UFC during the McGregor era’, which was a montage of all of the Irishman’s best moments under the UFC banner.
The video then transitions to ‘UFC during Dagestan era’ and it is a montage of Khabib and Islam Makhachev wrestling their opponents.
McGregor has notoriously gone at Khabib and his team for their wrestling-heavy fight style, claiming that they are ‘crotch sniffers’, etc.
When Paul Hughes announced that he would be fighting Nurmagomedov for the Bellator lightweight title, he asked McGregor to be part of his corner team as Khabib will be in the corner of Usman.
Originally, McGregor claimed he would ‘be there if anything kicks off’, however, it is unclear whether he has now had a change of mind following the recent feud.
