Randy Couture regrets rivalry with ‘Rampage’ Jackson

Randy Couture was a fighter who let his performances do the talking, often brutally destroying his opponents with his tremendous grappling skills.

However, outside of the cage, he wasn’t particularly fond of engaging in verbal back-and-forths.

Thus, he was rendered deeply upset when he fell out with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson over something he said about his fellow legend during commentary.

The pair, who have since made-up, sat down together on The Jaxxon Podcast, to discuss their previous fallout.

Couture said: “I just don’t have too many regrets, honestly. Yours was one of the regrets, somebody I considered a friend, and I hated being on the outs and have a rub with you.”

Rampage conceded: “That was my fault; I acted like a baby. I should’ve come and talked to you before. I thought about that after we hashed it out, like you know what?: I should’ve just been a man about it and came and talked to you about it.

“Yeah, you’re right, you’re doing your job, you commentating, I shouldn’t have got butthurt about that.”

Pleased with the explanation, ‘The Natural’, exclaimed: “It is what it is. At the end of the day, we’re sitting here, back on good terms, and that makes me happy. That makes my heart happy. I appreciate that.”

‘Most people thought I was crazy’… Randy Couture reveals the UFC victory that meant the most to him

In a testament to his fighting spirit, no matter how far the deck was stacked against him, Couture always gave it his all, regularly winning contests most believed he had little chance in.

It’s that level of self-belief that allowed the American to cement his place as one of the greatest to ever grace the cage.

On one occasion, people even branded him ‘crazy’ ahead of one of the biggest victories of his career.
