‘He’s locked in’… Logan Paul’s best friend provides Conor McGregor fight update after UFC legend claimed he has agreed to boxing match

Mike Majlak, a key part of Logan Paul’s inner circle, updated fight fans on the rumored Conor McGregor boxing match talks.

Logan Paul and Conor McGregor could potentially square off in the boxing ring next year. After McGregor dismissed fighting UFC champion Ilia Topuria in favor of fighting Paul in the ring, speculation immediately ramped up regarding the out-of-nowhere matchup.

Paul seemed to acknowledge the fight talks in a recent social media post and paid homage to one of McGregor’s signature lines during a WWE promo. But as of this writing, he hasn’t confirmed nor denied that a fight with McGregor is in preliminary talks.

Amidst McGregor and Paul’s recent tweets, confusion has skyrocketed online regarding the two polarizing athletes. In an attempt to provide some clarity on the matter, Paul’s best friend gave insight as to what’s going on with McGregor and a potential boxing return.

Mike Majlak speaks on Logan Paul vs. Conor McGregor fight talks

In a recent interview with Daily Mail Sport, Mike Majlak provided insight into the rumored Paul vs. McGregor fight talks.

“From what I understand, there [were] conversations about it a while ago,” Majlak said of Paul vs. McGregor. “I don’t know if Conor just woke up in Ibiza or something like that and decided he wants to talk about it today. The last thing I heard, there was no updates there, so I don’t know if he’s just out of his mind and just talking about it.

“But Logan just had a kid, he’s locked in, he’s a girl dad,” Majlak continued. “Unless there’s something that I haven’t heard, which is very possible, I don’t know what the hell Conor’s talking about. But I’ll say this: no matter what, I think the boxing world would love to see it. We’re talking about two controversial personalities. One loved, one hated. Two countries, with different fighting disciplines. The world watches that fight. It’s another Mike Tyson/Jake Paul. I want to see it happen.”

The Paul vs. McGregor rumors come just weeks after Logan’s brother, Jake, defeated heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson in the ring. While Logan and Jake have teased a fight between brothers, it seems that they’re headed on different routes, especially with the ongoing McGregor debacle.

If Paul returns to the ring against McGregor, it’ll be his toughest test in boxing, despite McGregor just having one previous boxing fight. McGregor lost to Boxing Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their 2017 ‘money fight’ crossover matchup.

Logan Paul vs. Conor McGregor talks add to a wild year in combat sports

In addition to the Paul fight talks, McGregor is also planning on an eventful return to the UFC Octagon for the first time since 2021. He’s expected to return by late 2025, according to UFC CEO Dana White, and Michael Chandler remains his likely next opponent.

Adding to Paul vs. McGregor is the fact that Paul defeated McGregor’s longtime teammate, Dillon Danis, in his last boxing match last year. He hasn’t competed since the Danis fight as he remains focused on his WWE career.

In any case, Majlak’s comments reveal that Paul vs. McGregor has potentially been in the works for months, albeit with no fight coming to fruition. We could learn more about the potential boxing booking as the new year arrives.
