‘Joshua’s in tatters’… Tyson Fury dismisses the idea of an all-British clash against Anthony Joshua

Ahead of his undisputed heavyweight title fight rematch against Oleksandr Usyk this coming Saturday, Tyson Fury has dismissed the potential of a fight against Anthony Joshua afterward.

Following their classic clash this past May that ended in a split decision, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk knew they would be set for an incredible rematch.

Tyson Fury dismisses the idea of a clash against fellow Brit

The heavyweight division is arguably in one of the best places it’s ever been in at the moment, with several fighters at the very top of their game.

One who is struggling to refind his previous form, though, is Anthony Joshua. The former champion was crushed by Daniel Dubois earlier this year, stopping any plans of a big clash between him and ‘The Gypsy King’.

A clash between the two most popular British heavyweights has been called for by the fans for several years now, and at one point, it seemed to be almost guaranteed to happen.

However, ahead of his rematch with the Ukrainian, Fury has admitted that he has no interest in a fight against Joshua next, stating that the two are heading in different trajectories. Instead, he believes when he beats Usyk on Saturday night, a trilogy will be immediately booked.

“Yes, I think (a trilogy) will happen. When I win on Saturday night, I think there’s gotta be a trilogy next year for sure,” he told Al Arabiya.

“Joshua’s in tatters at the moment. He has got to pick up the pieces from his last fight. But the fight with Usyk – one on Saturday and the one afterward would be fantastic for me,” he admitted.

Although fans were calling for ‘AJ’ to retire following his brutal loss to Dubois, the 35-year-old made it clear that he won’t retire with it unclear who his next opponent may be.

Tyson Fury hasn’t contacted his wife in 3 months during fight camp

After claiming that he is going to end the undisputed champion’s career on Saturday night, ‘The Gypsy King’ went on to explain that he hasn’t contacted his wife, Paris, in three months.

Fury has been heavily criticized in the past for under preparing for his fights, especially when he fought former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou last year.

The Brit is hopeful that winning the undisputed heavyweight title will be a sufficient present for his family come the Christmas holiday, however, he may be called back into action soon after if he is victorious.
