UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, was extremely pleased to see Colby Covington lose in brutal fashion this past Saturday at UFC Tampa.
This past weekend, former UFC interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington, made his return to the Octagon for the first time in almost a year where he took on Joaquin Buckley.
Covington was completely butchered by the soaring ‘New Mansa’ and the doctor spared him of any more damage in round three when she deemed him unable to continue, with the 36-year-old suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in his career.

Jon Jones rips into Colby Covington following his loss at UFC Tampa
Someone who was extremely pleased to see Covington left in a bloody mess, was UFC heavyweight king, Jon Jones.
At UFC Tampa media day on the Wednesday before his return fight, Covington bizarrely decided to rip into Jones, labelling him as a ‘disgrace to this earth’.
The two have a long-standing feud with each other, spanning all the way back to their time together at Central Iowa Community College where they were actually roommates.
Things seemingly turned extremely bitter between the two and following Covington’s pre-fight comments about him, Jones decided to get one back on him following his performance.
“Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready’ – we all appreciate the sacrifice. At least he got to see me win,” Jones said in a tweet on X.
Following his loss, ‘Chaos’ Covington blamed the fact that instead of having a training camp, he was helping Donald Trump ‘get ready’ for the US election.
Despite the fight being in Florida and Trump living near the area, he didn’t attend Covington’s fight. He did, however, attend Jones’ fight at UFC 309 this past November, and Jones celebrated his win by doing the signature ‘Trump dance’.
After being questioned by a fan on why he was kicking Covington while he is down, Jones said: “I know I shouldn’t but it’s just so much fun. It’s amusing watching someone you know hates you fail repeatedly.”
Dana White ‘100%’ certain Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall fight will happen
Although Jones wasn’t in action this past weekend, he was a big topic of conversation for UFC CEO, Dana White, who provided an update on Jones’ potential fight against Tom Aspinall.
Following his win over Stipe Miocic, Jones claimed he needed ‘f*ck you money’ to fight Aspinall in a title unification bout and that he would likely retire instead of fighting the Brit.
However, White is now ‘100%’ confident that ‘Bones’ will stick around to unify the title against Aspinall in what he has claimed will be the ‘biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history’.
