‘I hate him!’… Jake Paul destroyed by comedian Chris Rock for boxing Mike Tyson during viral Saturday Night Live monologue

Comedian Chris Rock didn’t hold back on Jake Paul’s win over Mike Tyson during his Saturday Night Live opening monologue.

Jake Paul returned to the win column in his most recent boxing outing against heavyweight great Mike Tyson just weeks ago. Despite the significant age difference between Paul and Tyson, the fight went the full distance, although Paul admitted he carried Tyson in the later rounds.

Since Paul’s unanimous decision win, many have speculated whether or not the fix was in for the Tyson fight. Several conspiracy theories have run rampant on social media since the event, including allegations that Paul gave Tyson subtle cues for when he was going to throw punches.

Paul and Most Valuable Promotions have denied all allegations of fraud and fight fixing.

Weeks removed from the event, the historic Paul vs. Tyson fight continues to be a major talking point when discussing 2024’s biggest combat sports events. One of the world’s biggest comedians included the Paul vs. Tyson fight in his act and didn’t have positive things to say about the polarizing boxer.

Comedian Chris Rock scorches Jake Paul during viral Saturday Night Live monologue

During his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live, Chris Rock went off on Paul after defeating the aging Tyson.

“Jake Paul beating Mike Tyson, what the hell? Who is this Jake Paul?” Rock said of Paul. “27-year-old punching a 60-year-old man in the face. Is this what the white man has reduced himself to? Stop it. Who is he going to fight next? Morgan Freeman?

“I hate Jake Paul! I got a landlord who hates Jake Paul. I hate him! I hate him like cocaine hates monogamy.”

As of this writing, Paul hasn’t responded to Rock’s monologue. He’s in talks to return to the ring in 2025, potentially in a rematch against Tommy Fury.

Paul hasn’t made many high-profile fans during his career in the boxing ring. He’s become one of the biggest heels in combat sports despite just a handful of fights on his resume.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, who sat front-and-center to watch Paul vs. Tyson, later explained how he felt ‘robbed’ watching the fight transpire.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson gets high-profile spotlight on SNL

Despite getting hate from all directions, Paul has won five consecutive fights since suffering his first career defeat to Fury last year. Before the Tyson fight, he earned recent wins over former UFC superstar Nate Diaz and Bare Knuckle FC standout Mike Perry.

Jake and Logan Paul have become two of the most polarizing names in boxing during their brief careers in the ring. Logan, who hasn’t fought since defeating Dillon Danis in a boxing match last year, is planning a return to the ring in 2025.

Tyson made his professional boxing return almost 20 years after a loss to Kevin McBride in 2005. He returned in an exhibition bout against fellow boxing great Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, with Paul making his professional debut on the undercard.

As 2024 comes to a close, Paul’s boxing career continues to cause a stir in pop culture. Love him or hate him, Paul has become one of the biggest draws in boxing today, as evidenced by Rock’s SNL bit.
