Dana White says he’s got big plans for the UFC next year.
The MMA mogul addressed assembled media members for the last time in 2024 after the UFC Tampa main event between Colby Covington and Joaquin Buckley ended in a disappointing doctor’s stoppage due to a cut on ‘Chaos’
Dana White provided a positive update about a heavyweight unification bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, which he assured will ‘100 percent’ happen in 2025.
The 55-year-old also claimed he’s got something else in the works that will make fans of the sport go crazy when they find out what it is.

Dana White’s comment leaves UFC fans guessing
While reflecting on another highly successful year for MMA’s premier promotion, the big boss excited fans by looking ahead to the next 12 months.
White teased a massive announcement while talking about upcoming fights. The UFC CEO didn’t go into detail, but he had a massive grin on his face as he claimed what he is currently working on will blow everyone’s minds.
“I anticipate a lot of big fights,” White said.
“I’ve got something in the works right now that will drive you f***ers crazy, all you guys would be running around.
“I got something in the works that you will never f***ing see coming for 2025, that literally started to come together last night.
“Yeah, we’ve got some fun stuff coming up.”
Footage of White’s comments quickly went viral on social media as fans tried to guess what he was talking about. For the most part, their predictions were a little far-fetched, but everyone had fun offering up their wacky predictions.
One fan speculated: “4-man tournament for BMF belt.”
Another said: “Mike Tyson Jake Paul 2 in Power Slap.”
A third person commented: “Brock Lesnar vs Jon Jones hell in a cell with Conor McGregor vs Shane McMahon in the main event.”
Someone else joked: “UFC on Mars.”
Dana White disagrees with UFC Tampa stoppage
A cut on Covington’s eye was deemed so bad he could not fight on at the end of round three.
White was disappointed that his final main event of 2024 was called off early. Especially because he felt Covington would have been able to continue if his fight with Buckley had taken place in Las Vegas, rather than Florida.
White said: “I was curious to see how it would go if it had gone five rounds, there’s no doubt that it was a bad cut, but that fight doesn’t get stopped in Vegas – that fight keeps going in Vegas, 100 percent
“Love him or hate him, the guy’s a dog, f**** tough as nails, took big shots to the body, big shots to the head that would have knocked a lot of people out… Colby’s durable and tough, but when you get cut, anything can happen.
“It was definitely bothering him, and literally as soon as the corner would fix it, he’s waiting to walk back out and he rips it open again, makes it start bleeding again.
“That alone tells you that the cut was bothering him big time.”
