‘I think he wins’… Alex Pereira shares Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall prediction as UFC unification fight edges closer

Alex Pereira believes Jon Jones will emerge victorious from his next fight.

The heavyweight champion defended his belt for the first time by knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on November 16.

‘Bones’ immediately began talking up a potential clash with Alex Pereira post-fight. However, Dana White ruled out the matchup and insisted that a unification bout with interim heavyweight titleholder Tom Aspinall must be next.

Now ‘Poatan’ has publicly backed Jon Jones to win the eagerly anticipated scrap that is dividing fans.

Alex Pereira: Jon Jones is too experienced for Tom Aspinall

Alex Pereira was in attendance at UFC 310 in Las Vegas on Saturday evening.

Before watching flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja choke out Kai Asakura in the main event, the former kickboxer took some time out for an interview with TNT Sports.

Pereira offered up his official Jones vs Aspinall prediction ahead of the potential showdown in 2025.

“I think Jon Jones has a lot of experience on his side,” he said.

“Some people say, ‘Aspinall this, Aspinall that’ but it comes down to experience.

“Jon Jones is a seasoned guy, he’s been there, so I think he wins”

Tom Aspinall provides negotiations update

Aspinall originally feared that he may get ducked by the greatest fighter in MMA history.

However, he’s now feeling much more optimistic about facing Jones in the very near future.

“I’m very confident that it’s going to happen,” Aspinall told Bloody Elbow.

“Obviously, a lot of things I’ve got to keep under wraps. I’ve had conversations with the higher-ups in the UFC and they are also very confident it’s going to happen.

“I don’t know from Jon’s side, but I know from my side and the UFC’s side it’s very likely.”
