This past Friday, Power Slap 10 took place from Las Vegas and UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira was in attendance for the night of slap fighting.
The UFC’s biggest active star, Alex Pereira, has been in Las Vegas over this past week as Fighters Only have been holding their annual World MMA Awards.
‘Poatan’ picked up their ‘Fighter of the Year’ award after his incredible year as the 205lb UFC champion, having defended his title three times on three huge events.

Alex Pereira unimpressed after Power Slap 10 KO
During his time in Las Vegas this week, the 37-year-old decided to stick around for Power Slap 10 with the main event being a heavyweight title fight between Damien Dibbell and Dorian Perez.
Dibbell retained the title after what was said to be a hard-fought five rounds, however, the UFC light heavyweight champion wasn’t impressed.
The UFC Europe account on X captured ‘Poatan’s’ reaction as he looked on stern-faced and didn’t provide much tell with his facial expressions.
Whoever was capturing the video asked Pereira: “Chama or no chama?”
Breaking character ever so slightly, Pereira looked at the camera and giggled as he responded: “No chama.”
Power Slap is relatively controversial amongst not only the UFC fanbase but a large majority of the UFC roster also don’t believe it to be a real sport, despite Dana White consistently trying to hype it up.
Not only that, but the UFC CEO claimed that Power Slap will surpass the UFC in popularity, comparing the criticism it has received in its infancy to the UFC.

Alex Pereira wants to make things ‘more difficult’ for Magomed Ankalaev
Pereira is currently taking a well-deserved break from the Octagon and will most likely return to defend his title against Russian contender, Magomed Ankalaev.
Despite that, the Brazilian has continuously teased Ankalaev by stating that he would like to fight Jon Jones next instead, with that fight unlikely to come to fruition.
Having accepted that Ankalaev is the next challenger, Pereira recently admitted that he would like to make it ‘more difficult’ for the Russian, knowing that he is next.
“It seems to be (next) but I don’t know. It doesn’t depend on only me. But as I had already said, I was going to make things a little more difficult for him… Not out of fear, because everyone knows who I’ve faced,” Pereira told MMA Junkie.
“I’m not afraid to fight him. But I would like to make things a little more difficult for him just because of the lies told,” he continued.
However, this past week, Pereira had a run-in with former foe, ‘Sweetdreams’ Hill. Ever since Pereira knocked him out cold, Hill has stated that it was unfair as Herb Dean momentarily stopped fight fight.
At the UFC Performance Institute this week, Hill attempted to confront Pereira whilst he was training, however, he may not have been expecting Pereira to go and pull out a spare pair of gloves from his bag and offer to fight him there and then.
