‘The Butcher’ vows to finish 18-fight veteran at UFC 310 before joking that he ‘can’t wait to smack’ one of his fans

The main card might dominate the headlines, but there are some truly fantastic fights set to take place on the UFC 310 prelims including Smith vs Reyes, Sterling vs Evloev, and Luque vs Gorimbo.

However, there’s one prelim bout that everyone has circled as a potential ‘Fight of the Night’ contender, the welterweight scrap between a UFC veteran on a hot streak and a ‘Butcher’ looking to chop his way into the Top 15.

Bryan Battle vows to finish Randy Brown ‘one way or another’ at UFC 310

Since dropping a unanimous decision to Rinat Fakhretdinov back in 2022, TUF alumni Bryan ‘The Butcher’ Battle has been tearing through his UFC welterweight foes with three consecutive finishes in his last three fights.

Battle returns to the octagon this weekend on the prelims of UFC 310 against promotional veteran Randy ‘Rude Boy’ Brown, who the flashy American believes to be “the best name that I’ve had up to this point.

“He brings a lot of great things to the table; athletic dude, fast, has an unorthodox style, and he brings a lot of experience to the cage… That’s the biggest edge that he has on me is experience and the people he’s gone against inside the cage.

“With all that being said, he’s just another obstacle that I’ve got to get by; another mountain that I’ve got to climb… One way or another, I’m getting him out of there. Period.”

UFC 310 comes just a few weeks after Battle’s last appearance in the octagon, a second-round KO of Kevin Jousset, with some fans concerned about how the quick turnaround will impact his performance.

To his credit, Battle was keen to remind fans that they should “remember how I got to the UFC, I was in The Ultimate Fighter house [where] I had to fight two times in two weeks.

“It’s a quicker turnaround since I’ve been in the UFC but before I got to the UFC, I tried to fight four times a year… I was kind of like ‘Damn, that’s a pretty fast turnaround’ but it’s cool, I feel amazing, incredibly sharp… Everything’s coming together at the right time perfectly.”

‘The Butcher’ jokes that he ‘can’t wait to smack’ one of his fans

Battle earned himself an entire army of new fans after that last bout with Jousset when he goaded the UFC Paris audience with his now infamous “You thought I’d lose a fistfight to a French dude” speech.

“It’s really been like a whirlwind,” stated Battle on his newfound fame.

“It’s been nonstop. It’s been a blessing, like everything that I’ve worked for is really coming to fruition. I really have the chance to take my career to the next level, it’s been really cool.

“The fans have been amazing, the memes and Instagram reels have been crazy, there’s a new one every other day so it’s been a lot of fun.”

Yet there’s one reoccurring meme that Battle hopes come true after UFC 310; he’d love to jokingly slap a fan, just as his coaches do for him before a fight.

“Nah, no – I’m waiting for it though,” Battle laughed with media members, adding “I can’t wait to smack the s*** out of a fan you know what I’m saying, that’d be funny as hell.

“Like I’m saying if they asked for it, you know what I’m saying; not in a mean way but if someone like ‘Hey can you slap me up,’ I’ll be like ‘Of course – just smack.”

UFC 310 goes down on Saturday, December 7 from Las Vegas – Battle vs Brown is set for the prelims, so make sure you’re tuned in nice and early to watch ‘The Butcher’ go to work.
