Justin Gaethje claims Charles Oliveira punched him harder than anyone else
Justin Gaethje has set foot inside the cage with a plethora of the best fighters in the world, but nobody landed a heavier shot on him than Charles Oliveira.
The pair shared an incredible war of attrition on May 8, 2022, at UFC 274, inside the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
In a tremendous battle, Gaethje landed a brutal uppercut to send his rival crashing towards the canvas.
However, in a testament to his fighting heart, the Brazilian rose to his feet, eventually wearing his opponent down, en route to connecting with his own right hand, to drop the American, before locking in the submission.

The devastating blow has gone down as the heaviest Gaethje has ever taken.
During a UFC 300 Q&A, he said: “I think the best shot that landed on me was from Oliveira. The same shot 100 times, you don’t see it one time, and it’s so much more effective.
“That was the case that night. He caught me off-guard and by surprise, and it hurt.”

Gaethje will always have a negative memory associated with being punched in the face by Oliveira.
But interestinly enough, someone else has the exact same feeling about him.
A UFC icon is insistent that nobody punched him with the power the American did. And bizarrely, taking those heavy hits, was part of his game plan.
