Sean O’Malley is currently sat on the sidelines figuring out his next move after losing his bantamweight title to Merab Dvalishvili this past September.
Following his disappointing loss at UFC 306, Sean O’Malley revealed that he entered the fight with an injury and subsequently required surgery on a torn labrum.
Despite that, following his loss, ‘Suga’ hinted at a potential immediate rematch against Merab Dvalishvili, however, ‘The Machine’ has seemingly come to terms with the fact that he will likely defend his title against Umar Nurmagomedov next.

Sean O’Malley submits famous barber after an audacious claim
Ahead of his fight against the Georgian, O’Malley sat down for a deep interview with famous internet barber and personality, VicBlends.
The interview then turned into a not so friendly clash between the two after VicBlends made an audacious claim that he could last over 30 seconds with the then UFC bantamweight champion.
“Yo, for someone that has never wrestled before, how long would it take for you to make me tap out?” VicBlends asked O’Malley.
“Ten seconds, I think I would grab your neck pretty quickly,” O’Malley responded hastily.
“I think I could do 30 seconds, no? I got that dog in me,” the internet sensation stated.
“30 seconds, no shot. Yeah but when you ain’t got that oxygen in you, it don’t matter what you’ve got in you, fall asleep. If we were in a caged circle like this, yeah it’d probably take 15 seconds, I feel like I’d just grab your head,” O’Malley confidently told him.
“I feel like you’ve got to give me some respect 15 seconds is crazy, what if I submit you? Dana (White) better give me a contract if I submit you,” VicBlends claimed.
Shortly after, the two met each other on the mats and ‘Suga’ drew a tap from VicBlends within the first five seconds.

Sean O’Malley reveals he is back in training following successful surgery
After losing his title back in September, O’Malley is eager to get back to action and has revealed that he is now back in training following successful surgery.
“Good news is, Suga Shane is back to training, we got into some mitts, some light sparring, he’s back in action,” O’Malley’s head coach, Tim Welch said in a recent episode of The Timbo and Sugar Show.
“People are like, you’ve got to start grappling brother, don’t need to see you hitting mitts, you’re already sharp.
“I can’t wrestle yet, I can move around and hit mitts a little bit, can f*cking shadow box, box spar a little bit, cannot grapple at all, yet. Probably about three weeks out from being able to start drilling,” the former champion added.
