Alex Pereira makes bodybuilder quit in viral arm wrestling video
During his time in Korea, Alex Pereira hit the gym with famed influencer Kim Kang Min, who rose to fame on the reality show Physical 100. The massive 209lb bodybuilder took him through a number of workouts, before they went for an arm wrestling match.
“I’m curious,” he told Pereira via a translator before making the challenge. “I’ll see if I’m strong enough to [compete].” Pereira then appeared to reply in Portugese: “I’m strong when competing, but I’m weak when it comes to lifting weights.”
The duo then sat down to arm wrestle, with the results going pretty much as expected. The bodybuilder looked to be straining to his maximum and was clearly sweating, while Pereira seemed unbothered staring across from him.
Eventually, the pair agreed to call it a draw on Pereira’s suggestion, with the Kim definitely looking pleased to not be defeated. They moved on to other exercises and appeared friendly as the video ended with them showing off their respective signature poses.
Fans react to Alex Pereira’s arm wrestling video
The consensus with fans who saw the viral clip seemed to be that Pereira, a professional fighter, had better prepared muscle for active competition. Meanwhile, the bodybuilder had a much more aesthetically impressive physique without as much practical use.
“Alex has true power. Bodybuilder has show muscles,” one fan wrote, with another adding: “Alex Pereira gave that bodybuilder a free physics lesson – turns out muscles don’t mean much when you’re up against a human forklift!”
Others noted that Pereira just has a more fighting-based strength, with one explaining: “It’s a completely different strength. Body builders carry a lot of water weight Fighters are lean and their muscles are more dense.”
Alex Pereira is currently enjoying time away from the octagon
The video is one of a number of clips to emerge from the light-heavyweight champion’s trip to Korea. There was another clip seemingly showing him repeatedly leg kicking a fan, while he has also been seen in different spots around the country.

It is a welcome break for ‘Poatan’, who competed in April, June and October on one of the most hellacious runs in UFC history. He first defeated Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 before stepping up on short notice to rematch Jiri Prochazka and save UFC 303.
Then in October he faced the lower-ranked contender Khalil Rountree Jr at UFC 307. That bout, interestingly, went the longest yet as he was dragged to the fourth round by the American before eventually landing another KO.
